Gothic

Its quite a good story and an immersive world plus very peaceful nature and music. Its much more realistic in the gameplay being unskilled at first and not just knowing skills right off the bat plus npcs go about their days as you play. It can be buggy as the game is old and i had to switch around the keys after talking to diego because omg it was a mess at first.

Well, this was my first "3D RPG" and I believe it still has a lot to say even today. Is it clunky to control? Yes. Will you die a lot just because of controls or questionable enviromental collisions? Yes! But damn, is it worth it - to work yourself from Mr. Nobody to well not so nobody. The only important question is, what camp will YOU join up?

It's an excellent game. Be patient and remember the routes the character takes. You have to explore all the spaces, all the terrain. There are clues with all the characters...

This game is a ton of fun and the dialogue is awesome but unless you're able to adjust to the ungodly controls I'd stay away. The layout and the combination of hotkeys is CRAZY and makes no sense halfe the time. If you can get past that ABSOLUTELY play this game, it's a blast.

While I have played Gothic 1 countless times over the years, I was surprised how well it runs, as long as you apply the correct patches (Union, Community patches+, GD3D11...). Looks miles better than in the days of old. The game itself is still very athmospheric, with straight-forward RPG elements and a well-told, though granted not very original story. Well worth giving it a try if you never played it!
