This point and click was a nice hour spent with Gomo looking for his dog. The game is very easy for people used to point and click so don't expect huge challenge. The game was well animated and nice to play but very short (1h30 and I wasn't playing fast). So I would recommend this game if you can buy it as me during some sales (I got it for 0,79 euros) which makes it a very nice small game to play! For young children I think that it could also be a nice game to play.
Someone said that this was "machinarium for kids", that is a good summary of this, if not completely accurate.
The game *is* fairly short, yes, but there is quite a lot of stuff to do, things to figure out and animations and little funny situations to watch and laugh at. Since it's so short, I've found that it also has re-playability - after half a year or so, you've forgotten how it went and can enjoy it all over again.
Is it really *for kids* though? I'd honestly say "not for the under 7 crowd at least"
There are certain situations and images that are a little disturbing, and I'm not just talking about the War-of-Worlds like easter-egg, but constant things: what exactly *IS* Gomo? He has a zipper for a mouth, and were he keeps his inventory seems kinda eerie (in machinarium, the main character is a robot, so the "my body is a bag ofholding" is cute, not creepy.) Gomo seems more biological than that, or maybe he is a voodoo doll?
But, some kids like crazy and scary stuff, so maybe it's more an individual thing than age thing? I am one of those who likes crazy eerie things, so I like it!
Is it too short? Yes. and, no, it has a story to tell and it does it well, no part seems rushed or jumped over in order to shorten the amounts of screens, likewise would more screens just make the game drag on and become uninteresting.
On the flip side wouldn't a full, length "Gomo" game be a great thing to behold? It's something I'd definitely like to see!
In essence I'd say this is a kid's game for grown-ups, or maybe a grown-up game for kids?
It's hard to say, it's silent-quirky -no text-short way might scream "Kid's game" to some, but to me it's more reappropriating things-for-kids the way adult colouring-books are; it's a Kid's game, for Adults.
But wait... It is a full flade adventure title for 7.99$... Wait... What?
No point in doing my regular format about the good, the bad and the ugly stuff of the game because there is very little to review here.
This is a simplistic adventure game that looks and feels like a flash game from newgrounds website.

The game is mega-simple and quick to end. I believe it is only suits little children which would like to try adventure games. Avoid investing money on it. Unfortunately even 1$ is too much to pay for what you get.
A funny little game, very relaxing with a cute sense of humor. Don't expect a challenging, mind-boggling point&click game. It's short, very easy and straight-forward, with limited interactions. Samorost and Botanicula were far more original, but I spent a very good time playing Gomo. Maybe a bit too expensive at full price, but it's worth giving it a try when it's discounted.
Gomo is a very charming Point-and-Click Adventure. If that doesn't interest you, then you're better off avoiding this one. It's very simplistic in that each screen is relatively self-contained, and that your inventory is relegated to 3 items at a time, and you'll rarely reach that. There aren't even that many places on each screen that you can stand. The puzzles aren't too difficult, but there are a select few that will require more thought than "click thing at other thing". Pixel hunting isn't a big deal, since you usually get a curly arrow when you can interact with something. I didn't run into any glitches, either
The setting is what sells me; it reminds me of one of those old European cartoons that used to air late at night back i the '70s. It also reminds me of that Wallace and Gromit film, A Grand Day Out. Though the game is extremely linear, it takes you on a pretty wild ride, and if you're into that sort of thing, this will probably scratch your itch. The humor didn't exactly have my lungs aching, but it gave me a good chuckle now and then. It's niche, but I really enjoyed it.
