Description
Gnomoria is a sandbox village management game where you help lead a small group of gnomes, who have set out on their own, to thrive into a bustling kingdom! Great Game

Solely for the sake of justice. This game is great! Saw this a long time ago but was thrown off by some of the reviews so I didn't bother. I just recently downloaded it and have been having a ton of fun since I got it. Facts: - Yes. It does come with a learning curve. There is a semi-thorough wiki page on it though. Enough for the basics. - The Gnomes DO what you tell them. You just have to set up their skills/priorities properly. Only exception is if there skill is too low they won't even try, but this is only for some tasks, not all. It's got resource gathering, crafting galore, Building elements, combat/military, and quite a bit of skills. Good GUIs, graphics speak for themselves, and overall a generally smooth flow of gameplay. The music is also good, I don't find myself wanting to change it or turn it off. As the description implies it does deliver. Definitely worth checking out if you are into building/crafting/resource gathering and don't mind a hands on learning experience.

User friendly OOB Dwarf Fortress

This game turned out to be a full clone... well, replica of DF. truly speaking, i'm not the master of DF. I was dying by first encounters, and it was hard pain to understand how military part of DF should work. so I can't get back to it ) Gnomoria is easier to handle. After 3 or 4 restarts of Gnomoria i was able to live long enough to meet 1st beasts. and my Militia was able to understand that they need to take sword and fight. so 3 or 4 died this day ) Wohooo! I big UI progress comparing to original. well, there is still some pain with UI, menus, help (it's absent, right?) but it's definitely playable and fun. Any disadvantages? you need to pay for this, while DF is free. And once you master Gnomoria, you might want DF deepness (may be DF will have some UI/UX improvements by this moment. the more we pay for clone, the more chances DF will be improved to market level)

Very good!

The only reason it doesn't have 5 stars is cause DF exists. But it's the next best thing. Get it if you're having problems with DF, or in my case if you're PC is not strong enough and experiences lag-death in DF, this game doesn't. Also, very moddable, I once replaced all the animals with insects, seemed more gnomish.

A Good Introduction To Dwarf Fortress

If you have to get this, get it as an introduction game to Dwarf Fortress. It's decent in its own right, but is basically the quicker and easier to get into version of DF.
