So close to great.

A really amazing achievment for such a small studio and it could have been a really awesome game. But there are just not enough fast travel points and save points. The fact that one has to travel so far to repair themselves is just really insulting to the player. I get that there has to be some level of consequence when you fail, but constantly backtravelling such far distances so frequently is just wasting the players time. I also would suggest including another mode in between easy and difficult where every enemy isnt so much of a damage sponge. some moments of this game are really fun and interesting while others just became repetitive and therefore boring after really harsh consequences from tough boss battles. Butt still a really impressive product from such a small studio.

Do you like Super Metroid?

If you like Super Metroid you'll probably like this. Haunting, cosmic horror-y vibes, arm cannon, etc etc, music is great, combat diverse, melancholy mood. Background art and levels are great to look at , strong 7 to light 8.

Great Music and Atmosphere

Play the game on the easiest mode, terribly punishing if you don't! Also, lots and lots of backtracking with not enough fast travel points. If you wanted a Metroidvania with a silent protagonist, this isn't for you.

Not perfect but still a great experience

It lacks the last 10% of polish and game-play testing of something like Hollow Knight but it's still a wonderful and quite charming metroidvania RPG-adventure. The story has an existential and ghostly twist to it so if you like things like Hollow Knight, Death's Gambit, Ori, The swapper etc you should like this. Three things I will say 1) the normal mode is quite hard in places, think Hollow Knight 2) The game doesn't hold you hand that much, the beginning can be quite hard 3) When you start the game don't go left the first thing you do, go right.. I think what's keeping it from being a solid five star game is probably the ending(s) and some difficulty spikes on some bosses.
