Ghost of a Tale

the visuals were absolutely amazing! from the first frame it was wonderful. the story was well told and engaging without being pedantic. the stealth in the game was masterfully executed and fun to use. the puzzles and extras were satisfying and the openess of the game was impressive. i cannot recommend this enough and i consider it one of the truly great games in my library.

I bought this many years ago on Steam it was a delight to play. You can explore the world around you as long as you careful and stealthy. The puzzles are just hard enough to take a bit of thought without being frustrating. No bosses, no huge fights it is a nice change. The author enjoyed what the was doing and it shows.

What more could you want from a game? Seriously, this indie gem gives me the same kind of feeling I get playing a good Zelda game from Nintendo, which is pure gamer bliss for me. Plus your character is a little mouse that's cute as hell. You can't go wrong with this one... unless you don't like stealth gameplay, in which case you probably shouldn't bother because stealth is a huge part of this. Thankfully I'm also a Metal Gear Solid and Thief fan, so that was right up my alley.

On the one hand it´s just beautiful. The game has atmosphere, it´s exciting and never just doing things in the right order and that´s it. On the other hand it´s horrible. The maps are crap, you never really know where to go next or where the f*ck the road was you took the last time. I really never was so lost in an RPG. But I liked it anyway. Tilo, the mouse, is just to sweet, and the game is serious enough to take you on a journey. Give it a try and consult some walkthroughs when struck :)

This is an example of an Action RPG without action and RPG. At first glance, it has a pleasant story with a crafty style (the authors approached it with heart), very good visuals, and well-developed characters. After the first hour, you realize that the only things the game offers in terms of RPG elements are dialogues and loot (only as a basic mechanics), and there is almost nothing in terms of action. The main and only mechanic is stealth. The interesting story becomes boring due to repetitive backtracking. And the absence of the role-playing element turns the game into a simple 2D quest. I don't mean to say that quests are bad, but Ghost of a Tale is not what it's marketed to be.
