A wonderful adventure
Let's keep it simple: Ghost of a Tale is a game that captures the feeling of being on an adventure, less as a Conan and more as a Bilbo. If this appeals to you then this game is definitely worth getting; it oozes with charm, lets you explore rather shoving in your face what you have to do and all-around feels like it was made with attention and care.

Very promising
I was sold out the moment I saw the trailer. This game simply has so much charm. The graphics are impressive and the concept is very endearing, reminiscent of The Secret of NIMH. Ghost of a Tale is quite polished for a game in development. Set in a beautiful anthropomorphic medieval world, you assume the role of a sneaky mouse named Tilo. Imprisoned for sedition and separated from your wife Merra, you must outsmart the guards on the quest to find her whereabouts. There are many collectibles in the game and the dialog is amusing and well-written. I found myself enjoying every moment of it, particularly the art. It pulls off a macro environment very well (with the exception of some extremely small roses and apples - why not make them petals and almonds instead?), which is both original and interesting. The game is playable at this stage and looks very promising. What I feel it lacks most is voice acting. The NPCs also lack variation, which I imagine we'll get later on. It seems to have a solid plot, which I look forward to exploring. I give it five stars.

Glad I got it for free
You can already tell from the screenshots that Ghost of a Tale has a cute hero. You only find out that Ghost of a Tale has nothing to offer apart from the cute protagonist when you play it. Or rather, when trying to play it. Because unfortunately you are left in the dark from the very first second as to what you should do or how you can achieve the given goals. The fact that the conversations with other characters aren't spoken and that you have to read the texts would be okay. I get along with that. What is less okay, however, is that the stilted, spongy and unclear conversation text only confuses you even more than you already are. And action? Well, aside from guards waddling predictable routes through the fairly simple areas and chasing after our hero once they've spotted him, I didn't find anything exciting. But this could also have been because I deleted the game after 1.5 hours. A game that comes under the headings "Action / Role-playing / Fantasy" and still hasn't captivated me after 1.5 hours of gameplay and did not encourage me to continue playing, has been given enough time to convince me. Unfortunately, Ghost of a Tale failed in this regard. Too bad, the hero is really cute and cuddly. How good that I got it added to my account for free during a promotion. I would have been really upset if I spent any money on it.

A really promising game
First, the protagonist is adorable! One's heart cannot melt seeing his big dark eyes. Second, the game is not very long now, don't expect that much content, even if you complete it 100%, but the dev is promising further content, which is grest. Graphically, it is really impressive, the art direction is beautiful and I didn't know Unity could provide such quality. However, there still are some bugs (shadows, missing textures) but not gamebreaking, and the bloom effect is too heavy when going from a dark place to a luminous one. Perfomance wise, the optimisation is not great (even with a GTX970 there are some drops form 60 to 19 fps with medium settings. I feel alpha effects are the reason why.) The dialogs are funny and you have to read it with a scottish accent to get the most of it. I am definitely looking forward to see the future updates!
