Exploding into the modern era like a pro wrestler from the top rope—it’s GEX! The fast-talking gecko who doesn’t want to sell you insurance! That’s right, the greatest gaming hero of the 1990s has returned for the 2020s through the raw, unbridled power of the Carbon Engine.

GEX Trilogy reproduces all three original games in exacting detail, precisely the way you remember them. Assuming you’ve gone senile and remember them having high-definition native 16:9 widescreen visuals and fully analog controls. Which they didn’t. No, this is the Gex series the way it was meant to be played. The Man didn’t think you were ready back then. He kept this version locked away. But the moment has finally arrived. Down with The Man! Up with Gex! GEX Trilogy is Gex, the next-gen version. The Gex’t-gen version. The Gexiest version of all.

And just like the tightest red carpet attire on Oscar night, the GEX Trilogy is totally stuffed… with tons of bonus features, including a music player featuring every track from each game (even the tunes that are kind of annoying), a massive museum filled with key art, a collection of classic TV commercials for the media-addled idiots in the audience, and an all-new interview with the voice of Gex.

That’s Gould, Jerry, Gould! (Dana Gould, to be precise.)

The classic 2D platformer, originally released for the 3DO console, returns with new features!

  • Display options! Optional CRT filters, borders, and screen sizes.
  • Rewind and save anywhere.

Gex's first 3D adventure is back for prime-time with a host of notable upgrades:

  • Brand new analog controls! Completely rebuilt 360-degree analog controls bring a higher fidelity of control and responsiveness to this classic game. (The original 8-way digital controls are here as an option).
  • Enhanced resolution over the original version!
  • Native 16:9 widescreen!
  • Rewind and save anywhere!

Gex's final 3D adventure is better than ever before:

  • Brand new analog controls! Completely rebuilt 360-degree analog controls bring a higher fidelity of control and responsiveness to this classic game. (The original 8-way digital controls are here as an option).
  • Enhanced resolution and performance over the original version!
  • Native 16:9 widescreen!
  • Rewind and save anywhere!

You're just playing the PS1 disc images

You do have rewind and a couple neat features/addons like video interviews, but not worth the price. Look at the main game data files, rename them to .bin and add a PS1 disc cue file and viola, you'll see the PS1 disc images.

Bonus is password protected. PS1 roms.

What a scam. I found the bonuses very cool, it also has a box art of OG 3DO Gex, game I really love. But MOST THE VIDEOS, TRAILERS, EVEN PICTURES ARE PASSWORD PROTECTED! I wanted to unpack the .pak files so I can print the 3DO cover as it is in very high quality (around 15 mb) and have it in my room, also preserve the amazing interviews etc. Positives - rewind feature, very nice GUI including nice ambience, decent CRT filter (although no CRT Royale, which I use on Duckstation) Negatives - PS1 copies. Which is extremely sad from a preservation standpoint. 3DO version has slightly more detailed Gex model and ACTUAL SAVING. If it wasn't 30 fps, it is the definitive version. I was really hoping for a port from a source code or recompiled 3DO version. Camera is still way too close, so you can fall with no fault of your own on your first playthrough. As the last boss has camera further away (as the only level in the game, which makes it even more frustrating) it was clearly possible. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason to buy this, as the bonus files are useless, you can only watch it in the user interface in-game. They should have been as goodies as separate download, like GOG usually does. And GEX 2 and 3, as Duckstation got insanely good as an emulator, this collection has no value besides the bonuses on one place, since you can customise the clocks, SSAA antialiasing, shaders, integer scaling, and everything to your liking, I was shocked not even an AA and framerate option is in Gex 2 and 3. I was hoping for a recompilation so at least you can play Gex 2 and 3 at 240 fps, If they slapped the camera a bit further and adjusted the resolution accordingly I would jump from happiness, and if Gex 1 was somehow playable at 120 or ideally 240 fps I would cry from happiness. Instead we got PS1 roms with a nice graphical interface, + bonus files you can only see in-game, treating you like an animal when you explore the folders.

The price is too high

As strong as nostalgia is now at days in our generation, I think no one is paying that price

A bit too much for the release price.

Its just Gex, all over again

(This is a review after only playing Gex: Enter the Gecko, will update when I've completed either Gex or Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko) This game is just a collection of the ps1 versions of these games, with a few quality of life features, such as improved camera control and the ability to save anywhere. Barely any attempt was made to improve the game otherwise, save for some rerecorded or uncompressed lines in the game now, which is very nice, and slightly improved graphics/rendering. FMVs are still very compressed, and now there are audio issues in the main hubworld and other levels of Gex: Enter the Gecko, something causes the music to not play properly using headphones, maybe with regular speakers as well, but not as noticeable. Another audio issue is when there are supposed to background sound effects or other music tracks in some stages, originally these effects were very subtle and added to the experience or just weren't very noticable. Now these effects are cranked up to 11 and constantly interrupt the stage music, and can be very annoying when its just a few second loop. The "extras" of the this game don't amount to much. Most of the key art, renders, and box art you could just see by searching on the web and has been available for years. The n64 excusive stages have been reduced to very poorly captured footage of someone playing through the stages. The music feature is nice, I guess. I wanted more, I expected more, especially for the asking price. Instead we got a half baked rerelease of some pretty fun, if even sometimes uninspired platformers. But considering LRG is involved, I should've known better. If you're a fan on the original ps1 releases, I'd definitly consider purchasing these games, but just on sale. If you never played the Gex series and want an easy and convenient way to play them, with the feature to literally save anywhere, buy it on a deep, deep discount. But as for full price, never, don't even think about it.
