Description
What started as a crusade has become a war of retribution.

Across the galaxy, ancient alien artifacts are being discovered, giving civilizations powerful new capabilities. Meanwhile, as civilizations try to carefully balance building an economy, funding an ever growing war machine, and engaging in diplomacy, the humans of Sol III have invented a game-changing new technology - Hypergates - which, when connected, allow for rapid transit across the galaxy.

With two new major civilizations and the concluding campaign to the Galactic Civilizations III backstory that serves this massive space 4X sandbox game, Retribution asks the question: How will you rule your galaxy?

Features

  • Artifacts - Powerful items buried on planets across the galaxy will give your civilization instant-access to new abilities.
  • Hypergates - Construct powerful gateways that, when linked, allow your fleets to travel even faster across hyperspace.
  • New Major Civilizations - The Drath and the Korath are back! The manipulative Drath pull the strings across the galaxy while the Korath rely on extermination. Each has its own set of special abilities, bonuses, and ship parts.
  • Supply ships - No longer do your planets act just as islands in space. Supply ships can be constructed to deliver goods and services to your other planets to aid in their development.
  • New Technology Tree - A top to bottom overhaul of the technology tree adds depth and sharpens the strategic choices in your research options.
  • Retribution Campaign - The climactic final battle players have been waiting for. The malevolent Drengin Empire thought humans were soft and peace-loving. They made a terrible mistake that may now end in their extinction.

THE LARGEST of the GalCiv3 DLCs BY FAR!

This one is nearly 2Gb in size. Only place you can find this information easily is Gog stats for the most part. If you look at all the DLC's you will see MOST of them are just a FEW MB. This one here has some juice on it. You also get MORE than you get with ANY of the other individual DLC. I have yet to purchase, and I own the game on Steam. Yet in doing all this research to figure things out, that is what I have learned. So obviously I have to avoid giving my opinion on gameplay. Yet just sharing what I can for the knowledge about this game. So far I only KNOW OF 3 triple A releases that have DROP IN DROP OUT AI functionality (meaning you can have the AI play for you while you watch) and that is both GalCiv 3 & 4 and Stellaris.

Are you serious?

How can stardock charge $17.99 on sale (normally $19.99) for an expansion to a $29.99 game? I almost thought I was getting a good deal on the game, until I realized I was almost paying the full price of a game for an expansion. Thank God I realized soon enough to avoid buying it. I don't like stardocks pricing, and I don't appreciate that Sins of a Solar Empire still has massive lag issues in 2019 on a modern PC, so I regret to say that Just how I am done with EA, Ubisoft, Paradox interactive, Bethesda, and Activision, I am now also done with Stardock Entertainment. I'm just done. I'm not paying this much for something like this, and I take it as an insult. I'm very disappointed with them and I'm glad I can breath easy now that I'm not interested anymore. I love Gog.com though, but it would be nice if they didn't enable this kind of company behavior for those who sell on gog.
