This is one of those classics that never die. Out of the three that are available, this first chapter in the Gabriel Knight series is the only one that exists. The other two just cannot compare to the artistry in this game. This is truly one of the greats of it's time. Adventure gaming has not been the same since. For those who love great story telling and puzzles that require you to pay attention to detail, this game is for you. The well chosen voice cast is a plus and certainly out shines the some what dated graphics. That same voice cast was sorely missed in the later chapters of the GK trilogy.
Couldn't believe it when I found this site and saw some of the old games I used to love playing, and have probably still got the original disks for! This game was one of my favourites and yet I never actually managed to complete it. looking forward to playing this one and several others I have found on this site! Thank you GOG!!!
Together with the first Broken Sword, this must be the best storyline, voice-acting, puzzles, in-game-depth and immersion possible. One big enjoyment from first to last. Even as I played this without the voice-acting at the time. Gabe, Grace, Mosely it's all here to love.
When I first purchased this game tech wasn't what it is now and due to other responsibilities it took me a whole summer to complete it, but I was always amazed as to how geographically and historically correct a fictional game as I was playing it. A group of younger friends led me here to rediscover it and to my surprise two more sequels. It was an absolute blast to play and even more awesome to experience. A game that was ahead of it's time brought up to be played in the most recent times.
This game maybe old style...C & P but its got it all, mystery, intrigue..And Tim Curry...What more could you ask for. i have waited forever to play since owning the original CD's which have issues installing ...due to my lack of skill...on laptop..grins. Thanks...gog!!!
