    • The Rifts - already available being the first mini expansion which brings new endless mode map and a new constructible building – The Bridge.
    • The Last Autumn - this one is going to be a vast expansion of the game's universe by introducing brand new scenario along with game-changing mechanics and unique architecture, while broadening Frostpunk’s lore and narrative.
    • On The Edge - expansion tells a story of citizens of New London sent for a special assignment after the Great Storm.
  • Frostpunk Original Soundtrack - it's the original soundtrack from the game, composed by Piotr Musiał. All tracks mastered and mixed for the digital version of the album, delivered in all popular formats.

The city must survive.

Frostpunk is a blend of city-builder, society survival and a strategy game where heat means life and every decision comes at a price. In an entirely frozen world, people develop steam-powered technology to oppose the overwhelming cold. You face the task of building the last city on Earth and securing the means necessary for your community to survive.

Optimization and resource management often clash with empathy and thoughtful decision-making. While city and society management will consume most of the ruler’s time, at some point exploration of the outside world is necessary to understand its history and present state.

What decisions will you make to ensure the survival of your society? What will you do when pushed to the limit? And who will you become in the process?

A society survival management game

Main focus in this game is to manage a community in a post apocalyptic scenario. To help people survive and avoid suffering. Simply surviving a scenario may not be that hard, but at the end the game gives a kind of recap of how well you did and what kind of leader were you. So you will generally aspire to do the best you can, in accordance with your moral compass, for the most amount of people. Game offers several narrative scenarios as well as endless modes (I didnt try those) in which you are given various objectives, starting resources and and obstacles that you need to overcome. Scenarios also have some unforeseeable events pop up that will add some extra challenge. The presentation (visuals and sound) are solid, game mechanics are straightforward with sufficient variables, there is an overall narrative for a scenario with flavor text, but no real plot or characters. The only real complaint one may have for this game is that in order to get the best outcome you are funneled into a specific set of moves/commands/behaviors at certain stages of the game that limit your choice of action. But that is normal for a survival game. There is also an element of waiting for key junction points, like gathering enough resources to progress further, but that is also something inherent to management games. Its good for what it offers and if you want to challenge yourself to get better outcomes then it will keep you busy for a while.

Solid Game - Runs Smoothly

Super Challenging survival city builder. Strong story, Nice graphics. I may have redefined the term 'Rage Quit', after failing miserably a 'few' times, early in the learning curve. But, once the realisation that Location is everything sinks in, one can better organise what goes where, and it all becomes somewhat manageable ... at least for a bit, until it all goes off the tracks again late scenario. LOL Frankly, much of the time, Frostpunk feels more like work than fun, in the relentless never-ending struggle to balance settlers needs, collect resources, explore, and rescue, in classic 'man against nature' & 'man against man' conflicts. Traditional, soft-hearted morality tends to get everyone Dead, so hard choices must be faced. Buck up! Lads Only real negative IMHO is the RNG aspect, that has nothing to do with how well or poorly you perform at times, but that fault isn't worth dropping from a proper 5-star rating. (Save scumming iis my tool of choice when faced with RNG). Very pleased with the replay ability, and all the DLC in this GOTY edition, as well. Recommend this GOG DRM-free modern classic, especially for offline play - 'as it was in the beginning' !! (Frostpunk v1.6.1 BTW) Cheers

Hooked and then not

I've been on a quest to play through a bunch of city builder games and this was in a bunch of list so I thought I'd give it a try before comitting to the sequel. Right off the bat I was hooked. I made some critical mistakes but I survived on my first play through and I never even unlocked the last tech tier. I never even built a steam powered mine. After surviving the basic story mode I didn't really have any desire to start it again and try to do it better. I don't think there was much of a reward to finishing. On a different note: For some reason Frostpunk ran my gpu hotter than any other game I've played this year. With the graphics settings on the low it was still running my gpu hotter than Cyberpunk 2077 or Path of Exile with high settings. There was nothing lost for me when using the lower graphics settings on this game and I wish I could turn the graphics detail down even further. I would love a more old school pixel version of this game with more, and better music. I would say it's worth a play through when you can get it on discount but after replaying the older Simcity games this year I am reminded why some games are timeless and some are not. Ten years from now I doubt I'll even remember having played Frostpunk unless the series takes a turn and has a mega hit after a couple sequels or something. I'll keep an eye out but I'm on to other things in the meantime.

A very good game

Love this game. Good plot idea, easy to use interface, game mechanics can be understood fast. Can be very challenging too. Cant wait for frost Punk 2. There are two things i dont like, i need to feed and keep beds for people who are out exploring or living in expedition camps ? The second is, house upgrades why not add living space ? A house is much higher than a tent, should give more living room for more resident.

Too depressive

The game itself is a good economic strategy, not that hard and complex, but a bit original in some consepts. But at the same time it's so depressive! All tones, style, UI, world, all visual part is depressive. And more than that - the gameplay itself is depressive, game events are depressive, there is almost no good actions and outcomes in the game, thay can be graded just by the level of being bad to worse. I can see that this is postapocalypse and humanity is dying so it makes sense. But playing this game is painfull. Somehow other postapocalyps games/movies/books find a plase for something good, for some hope. But not Frospunk, no. If you ever was suicidal - this game will most likely kill you.
