Description
Firewatch is a single-player first-person mystery set in the Wyoming wilderness.

The year is 1989. You are a man named Henry who has retreated from his messy life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. Perched high atop a mountain, it’s your job to look for smoke and keep the wilderness safe. An especially hot, dry summer has everyone on edge. Your supervisor Delilah is available to you at all times over a small, handheld radio—your only contact with the world you've left behind. But when something strange draws you out of your lookout tower and into the forest, you’ll explore a wild and unknown environment, facing questions and making choices that can build or destroy the only meaningful relationship you have.

A Note: Firewatch is a video game about adults having adult conversations about adult things. If you plan on playing with a younger gamer, that might be good to know going in.

Firewatch is amazing for many reasons, but above all because it's an adult game that deals with serious issues, with realistic adult dialogue to match. And it deals with those issues just like actual adults would: sometimes with humor, sometimes with anger, and sometimes with sadness. It is among the very best of the first-person narrative genre, and it reminds us what video game storytelling is capable of in the right hands. It's a game I can see coming back to every year or two just to revisit its beautiful sights and memorable characters – just like a good book.

Man this game is great

I heard this game was good beforehand, and it's also a type of game I knew I would like, and I sure as hell wasn't let down. Walking around the beautiful environments, getting to know the area, experiencing this amazing story, it was all fantastic. As soon as I started playing I could barely stop until I reached the end (which I know has been critiqued but which I liked). A definite recommended game if you like nice game places and stories

Touching story, amazing visuals

First, let me say I generally do not like so-called "visual novels" or games which are barely interactive. Firewatch is interactive, but there's actually little to actually choose to do, and barely any puzzles to solve. That said, "Firewatch" is top-notch. Visually, it amazed me: looking at the sky in a starry night was breath-taking, and I really felt I was hiking in a national forest. It also has a very moving story, and it's also an adult game -- the good kind of adult. There is some suspense and tension, but this is essentially a story about loneliness and running away from your problems, and also about friendship. This could easily work as a short story or even a short film. I like what the developers were trying to do with this game, even if it has some flaws, and would definitely buy more games from them.

Not a game really

Not much of a game really. A walking/hiking sim mostly. If you take out the walking the game is like 30 minutes long(if that). The story is just ok, nothing special. Also no replay-ability, not that I would want to do all that walking again. If you must have the game wait for a deep discount.

Great game, great story

Even though i've finished te game wanting more, the overall experience was great and well worth playing! I wish the ending was more revealing but i also think it is great the way it is! Looking forward for a sequel.
