The year is 1989. You are a man named Henry who has retreated from his messy life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. Perched high atop a mountain, it’s your job to look for smoke and keep the wilderness safe. An especially hot, dry summer has everyone on edge. Your supervisor Delilah is available to you at all times over a small, handheld radio—your only contact with the world you've left behind. But when something strange draws you out of your lookout tower and into the forest, you’ll explore a wild and unknown environment, facing questions and making choices that can build or destroy the only meaningful relationship you have.
A Note: Firewatch is a video game about adults having adult conversations about adult things. If you plan on playing with a younger gamer, that might be good to know going in.

I played this game a couple years ago and just downloaded it again... it left such an impression with me. We need 20 more games just like this a year. Hope developers are taking notes.
This is a nice walking sim, similar to Gone Home with more emphasis on a story and interaction with characters and small bits of adventure mixed in. I enjoy these games because to me they are like an interactive movie of sorts, something I can sit back and enjoy without dying a bunch of times or asking for help on forums. I enjoyed the story and how it makes you feel when playing, confused, lost, scared, worried, and hopeful. There were tons and tons of details, I found a few neat things but I know there were many things I missed since I did not look at everything and explore every nook and cranny.
I can't comment on replay value as I don't replay my games very often. I clocked 3.5 hrs and was satisfied. I think the price is justified, but everyone values their time differently. I'd much rather play a 3 hr game and enjoy it than have a 20 hr game I had to force myself to finish.
The beginning of the game was great. You knew who you were, and why exactly you took this job as a firewatch. You get to explore this beautiful world, and enjoy it with Delilah over the radio. Weird things happen, and the game will make you feel paranoid.
Then... all of a sudden, the game just ends in the most disappointing way possible.
There are many fan theories on the story, trying to make it more than what it is. But if you play the game with developer commentary you will understand that there is nothing to be solved. It is what it is. A terrible ending.
However, I must commend the developers for their attempt at making something unique wich made me feel excited to play. Many games are so uninteresting that you stop playing them after an hour. This game however peaked my interest from the get go.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
