Story
The notorious “Syndic8” gang are slowly taking control of the capital and have kidnapped Claire Sparks’ younger sister. Unfortunately for them, Claire will do whatever it takes to get her back and crush anyone who stands in her way! She teams up with her two friends (and housemates) - retired pro-wrestler Miller T. Williams and Duke Sancho, the streetwise bare-knuckle fighter. Together they must battle and brawl their way through the mean streets of London in a risky mission to reunite Claire with her sister.

Growing up with Final Fight, Streets of Rage, Crime Fighters, Bad dudes, Combatribes, etc. this game fits right in. it's very much an homage to Final fight and Streets of Rage.
Graphically it really calls back to Final Fight. Same with the story etc.
Music is alright, it's no Streets of Rage II but it's still good.
Play control is good. It has the feel of an old school beat-em-up and the basics are all there.
It's not ground breaking, but personally I don't want ground breaking.
Over all: if you're expecting something NEW, you'll be disappointed. If you want a modern homage to the old greats of the genre that uses it's formulas from top to bottom, it can be very satisfying. As an older ex arcade rat, I love this game.
As the title says, this is basically Final Fight, and there is nothing wrong with that. It's great to see studios making titles like old school games. Especially as most big publishers have left their back catalogue in limbo. If you loved SNES or Genesis Beat Em Ups, you'll love this.
Yet great old school beat em up, exactly what you could expect from this genre in most classic design possible. Maybe not outstanding but definitely worth its price on sale. Training mode to learn dealing with every enemy you meet in game is super useful, especially if you want to prepare for the last boss in boss rush mode.
They want $25 for this game. Seriously...
It's a standard fair beat 'em up that gets the core down, for the most part, but not much beyond that. There's all these little frustrating, "what were they thinking" kind of design issues.
One is that they give you 24 different controller combinations instead of just letting you customize your controls. The controls menu doesn't even show that the triggers and shoulder buttons have vital moves assigned to them. It took me 15 minutes of gameplay before I accidentally found out you can dash, block, special combo and kick with them.
There are too many none telegraphed attacks and stage traps. Also, even with the crowd control options, given how quickly enemies can swarm you with their barely any startup frame attacks it can get aggravating quickly.
The most irritating part of the game is that enemies will often hit you outside of your lane where if you attempt to hit them, despite your sprite touching theirs, the hit won't register.
Mercifully, the game is over pretty quickly. There are only six stages and the bosses are easy to cheese even on hard difficulty. Personally, I'm a quality over quantity kind of person but this game has neither and people who like bang for their buck will find the price tag insulting.
