Description
In 1815 Napoleon escaped from exile on the island of Elba, returned to France and made his way to Paris in triumph. His disbanded troops once again took up arms and flocked to his colors. The defeated ruler of Europe was, once again, Emperor of France. The Allies were taken by surprise. The master military tactician was back! The Anglo-Allied army commanded by the Duke of Wellington was based in Belgium; he would have to combine forces with Blucher's Prussians to defeat him. Great promise let down by atrocious AI

I don't own this on GoG (bought it on release back in the 90s), and no intention to buy it now, even if on sale for 10 cents. I'd genuinely debate whether or not it was worth adding to my library if free. It looked great and promised a lot. But the AI was the worst I've seen in any wargame, period. It just sat there. If you attacked, it didn't respond. If it was on the offensive, it didn't attack. I remember the response of Microprose way-back-when I contacted them about this, thinking it was a bug and would be fixed "We know there are problems with the AI, suggest you command at the highest level" - in other words, turn a game that promised the ability to "command thousands of troops" into a game where you commanded 3-5 flags. Not that that fixed the AI problem, it just meant you couldn't micromanage to achieve 100% kill with 0% casualties against a completely useless AI.

Sadly to old

Possible it was a good game 40 years in the past. Sorry to old to have fun. Graphic and Interface are cruel for our eyes today. Schade, die Bedienung ist grottenschlecht. Die Grafik ist undeutlich und verwaschen. Sechs Euro perdü. Six Euro for nothing. 5 Minuten/minutes.
