F.E.A.R. Platinum includes the original F.E.A.R. and its two addons: F.E.A.R. Extraction Point and F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate.
Be the hero in your own cinematic epic of action, tension and terror. A mysterious paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, taking hostages but issuing no demands. The government responds by sending in a Special Forces team only to have them obliterated. Live footage of the massacre shows an inexplicable wave of destruction tearing the soldiers apart. With no other recourse, the elite F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) team is assembled to deal with the extraordinary circumstances. They are given one simple mission: Evaluate the threat and eliminate the intruders at any cost.
F.E.A.R. Extraction Point
Extraction Point kicks off where the original game ended – with a bang. As the helicopter which the F.E.A.R. team is on attempts to leave the vicinity, it instead winds up crashing. The F.E.A.R. team is thus forced to seek out an alternate extraction point, all the way battling the now free Alma and her paranormal minions across a destroyed city.
F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate
As the first F.E.A.R. team and Delta Force fight for control of the situation, a second F.E.A.R. team is sent in to shed some light on Armacham Technology Corporation's (ATC) dark past. As a member of a secondary F.E.A.R. team, you are brought in to discover more information regarding the secret project at the ATC facilities.

Limited FPS to 60 (configurable), ensuring smoother performance.
The more time passes the more fond I am of this game. I didn't actually play it right when it came out but it's a masterpiece. The sinister horror elements and the desolate levels give it an atmosphere that is unrivaled in the FPS genre. After the 5 minutes of opening exposition about the "F.E.A.R" recon squad you are on your own and you basically never see anyone on your "team" again. It's just you vs. an unknown and preternatural enemy. So good.
I'm not even joking. F.E.A.R. is one of the freakish fusion of The Matrix, Pulse and a John Woo movie that you never could believe existed and that you never knew you needed.
The atmosphere and horror are extremely well done, giving the game an intense, pulse pounding "What the F--K will happen NEXT?!" feel that will have you on the edge of your seat. The gunplay is extremely well done, and the addition of Bullet Time as a gameplay feature ends up being a life-saver most of the time.
The story is extremely well-written and intense, with what starts out as a simple psychic/paranormal incident snowballing and escalating into a full-on crisis by the game's pulse-pounding climax in the Origin Facility. The main characters, whilst likable, are nothing to write home about, but it's the side characters and the main antagonists (Paxton Fettel and Alma) will stick with you, for better or worse.
Oh, and there's also the AI. Most people have said this in depth already, so I'll keep it brief: They flank. They try to flush you out with grenades. They call for reinforcements, etc.
Long story short, F.E.A.R. is a masterpiece, and it is required playing for any gamer with a PC.
Oh, I forgot... The expansions.
Extraction Point is a fantastic follow-up with brilliant level design, cool new weapons and difficult new enemies, and a bleaker, more nihilistic storyline that compliments the base game's tale of an escalating paranormal crisis well, whilst Perseus Mandate is... Fun, but suffers from some unbalanced areas, a weaker plot, and some far less polished visuals. EP is the better, but they're both worth playing.
Anyway, F.E.A.R.. It's definitely worth fearing.
A great classic, that gave the genre a lot of food for thought for the next few years. Unfortunately, enjoying it today on modern hardware might be a bit of a mixed bag. On some systems the game may run into its artificial RAM limit and significantly drop the framerate, regardless of how powerful your CPU and GPU are.
This game is all about the creepy atmosphere. Loved the AI decision making back then. Still impressive today. 20 years old and it still holds up... somewhat. You'll get performance issues on longer sessions but other than that, it works perfectly. Sad that Monolith Productions was forced to close shop.
The controls for the controller input still does not work even with and Xbox controller. i tried with my old logitech controller from back in 2006 and that still does not register either. with the last update to this game i figured they would have fixed this issue they have had since they released this on there game list but yet here we are in 2025 still having issues. i have used x360, a controller input program that works with many other games but this is the only game so far it does not fix controller input. GOG DEV team please fix this issue. this iis one of the many legendary games from back in the day that alot of gamers miss playing.
