Did you ever want to reroute power to the shields, set phasers to stun, or even eject the warp core? Well, now you can! In FTL, you experience the atmosphere of running a spaceship trying to save the galaxy. It's a dangerous mission, with every encounter presenting a unique challenge with multiple solutions. What will you do if a heavy missile barrage shuts down your shields? Reroute all power to the engines in an attempt to escape, power up additional weapons to blow your enemy out of the sky, or take the fight to them with a boarding party? This "spaceship simulation roguelike-like" allows you to take your ship and crew on an adventure through a randomly generated galaxy filled with glory and bitter defeat.
FTL's complex strategic gameplay allows you to give orders to your crew, manage ship power distribution, and choose weapon targets in the heat of battle. You will encounter unique alien lifeforms and technology. You can upgrade your ship and unlock new ones with the help of six diverse alien races. Be the Captain you want: hundreds of text based encounters will force you to make tough decisions. In the randomized galaxy each play-through will feature different enemies, events, and results to your decisions. SuperGame!
I love a game I can finish in a hour and is addictive as heck. Master of Orion was one and FTL is another. Once you understand the interface, the random element keeps you coming back. I would like to see some battle screens but worth every penny at this price.

Terrible
Basically its a 32-bit retro game that mostly just creates impossible and random events which is supposed to be entertaining and fun? There is a reason its on sale for <$3 all the time. It sucks. Lazy developers, poor strategy, and sucky gameplay. Its not worth $2.75.

Could be fun
if it wasn't for the cheer amount of luck you need. Don't get any weapon drops in the first sector? You'll get blast to pieces in no time. Lucky hit to your weapons in the first round of battle? Go and restart ...

Could be fun if difficulty was adjusted and mega powered random enemies fixed
First off, the initial play of the game is fun. Once you learn the strategy, you can see where you should go but the randomness and difficulty of the game take away from enjoying it. You can build up a ship with good weapons and add-ons and the AI will throw a triple shielded, transporter equipped and mega missile enemy at you when you are not anywhere near the last system. All this on the easy setting. If you play the Advanced Edition mode, the random experiences and difficult enemies is even worse. Stay away from this game until the developer learns the meaning of the difficulty setting.
