Finally well done sim immersive farming
Reading the other review from James I have to step in to clear obvious things out. Playing several other farming simulators with zero or terrible story and NPCs including ...dynasty games I can say after playing a few in game years this is finally an immersive sim with well done NPCs and good (real life) writing. James obviously didn't even make it past the very first main objective to get rid of alcoholism in the first place which takes not that much in-game time. Economy is finally not game-y but realistic, meaning realistic prices and a hard start for someone who almost sold the whole farm for alcohol. Luckily there's a lot of junk on your property to sell to tinkerer on marketplace. This and a hunting rifle is your first income to buy a rooster to increase the population of chickens, then you can afford a partner for your piggy pal to reproduce... then a cow to save on that milk and butter. Wildlife is actually realistic, you need to be extremely stealthy to get close enough to crouch and aim for a while to minimize spread and boom - headshot! Single shot needed when you realize missing your target doesn't mean "sponge-y". There are so many activities that are so well done when it comes to balancing realism and fun be it the best cooking mechanism I've seen in a game, socializing in a very eastern-european rural way for year 1945, distilling alcohol, manual labor on the field in the correct realistic order, mowing, drying, hoeing, sowing, weeding out, harvesting and fertilizing the used land and repeat. Going from the very bottom of one-man show to utilizing draft animals, repairing your tractor and using better mechanization and eventually getting a wife. Now graphics (lighting and shading), interface and controls (no controller support) are all very VERY weak points of this game but I am willing to ignore that as this is finally well done 3D immsim of a farmer's life. Though time is passing double the speed I'd like but hey, I may give a try to make a mod.
