STORY

One day without warning, a young cook working behind the scenes at an Akihabara maid cafe suddenly gets spirited away to another world!
The new world he finds himself in is one of fantasy, where magic exists and monsters run wild.

Without a way to return to his own world and at a total loss, a monster appears out of nowhere and is about to attack him when, at the last moment, Lupine, the owner of the tavern "Stray Sheep" appears and saves his life.

Brought to "The Stray Sheep" by his lifesaver Lupine, he finds nothing but a sad empty tavern with not even a single customer.

With nowhere to go, the main character decides to aid Lupine in reviving The Stray Sheep, knowing that if enough adventurers come by, one of them may know a way for him to return home.

Utilizing the cooking skills he cultivated during his time in the maid cafe, can he be the one to save the tavern from its precarious management situation?!
You'll laugh! You'll cry! Set against the backdrop of a fantasy world's tavern, this slightly naughty, slapstick love-harem drama is about to begin!

CHARACTER

Lupine
CV:Rin Mitaka

Lupine is the female owner of the tavern where adventurers gather, a place known as "The Stray Sheep".
Following her father's wishes, Lupine suceeded him as owner after his death.

She likes caring after others to the point of being a bit overbearing.
This caring nature of hers has won the hearts of her neighbors, who love her dearly.

Lupine works hard everyday to liven up the tavern left behind by her father, and fill it with adventurers, just like in the old days.

Even the adventurers there are no match for her in strength when it comes to handling drunk and troublesome guests.
She even has the power to send monsters flying. On the other hand, she is a catastrophe when it comes to cooking.
Unfortunately, her cooking has caused guests to stay away...

Daisy
CV:Mochi Morisawa

"Daisy runs The Stray Sheep, along with Lupine.

After being saved by Lupine from a certain situation, she became one of the staff at The Stray Sheep, adoring Lupine like an older sister.

Seized by jealousy at seeing the main character grow close to Lupine, she plots how to get rid of him."

Unexpectedly Simple & Short, yet Cute VN

Fantasy Tavern Sextet - Vol.1 New World Days took me 4 hours to complete a first play through. During the play through the story was fun in a childish Saturday morning cartoon way, but with adult themes like drinking and intimacy thrown in. I was expecting more of a game, but it is only a virtual novel. There are no mini games, and during the 4 hours there were approximately 10 instances when the player can make a choice for how the story proceeds. The choices don't have a meaningful impact for future chapters, they just alter how the current scene plays out. I give it a three-star rating as I didn't feel like playing the game was a total waste of time or boring. But there were scenes when the protagonist gets attacked by a monster and I was fully expecting a mini game or decision tree to interact with it, and it was purely handled as a single-track story encounter. At the tavern I was expecting a mini game to manage tasks and finances, or at least some player agency to decide how I would assist, but again it is all a single-track story. The only times you get to make a choice is when it involves one of the harem girls. Finally, the scenes are very basic and limited. It felt like a low budget theater where they only have so many backdrops, so all the scenes get crammed into three or four locations. Not so much because it helps the story but rather because of budget constraints. It was disappointing when the aforementioned monster was never visually depicted, nor a subsequent major protagonist. The story will talk about other characters and give them lines to say, but all you will ever see are the harem girls in the limited backdrop settings. I personally don't plan to continue the story into volume 2 or 3. The game wasn't a waste of time, but for me it was a waste of money.

If you love Nekopara you'll love this

It's a pretty wholesome story similar in tone to Nekopara, but with a fantasy spin

Simpl story, good visuals, amazing audio

But no real gameplay, it's the type of "game" you press autoplay, lay back, and let the story unfold with the very few ocassional ·choice" that doesn't really make much of a difference. Still, in discount it is worth it. Now, I am off to the next chapter.
