Unpolished potential

I could get on board with the imposed handicap to the PC to some extent, although getting rid of a -30% dmg reduction to all your attacks seems to be inordinately long-winded. And maybe with the scarce ammunition and med supplies; if anything, F4 had these too much in abundance, much like the power armours popping up left and right. However, the game lost me after it failed spectacularly on delivering on my favourite feature, settlements- they are buggy beyond console commands, and really shouldn't be in the game as they stand. Also, moving around the world map is exceedingly railroaded- there is often only one way forward, and any other route is often blocked by rubble, giant barricades or walls offering no reason to this other than making sure the player moves thru the map like a theme park ride. Invisible walls will be sure to catch you if you happen to wiggle thru some small opening or a hill in hopes of traversing to another district. For the positive, I did rather like the worldbuilding and lore that the dev team managed to conjure to London; most of the sites seemed properly hand-built, unlike the generic Bethesda mess of interiors. The Cthulhu-mythos references and influence is evident, and for the most part the dialogue and delivery are good, as is the sound world, setting a very nice atmosphere. As much as I try to like the mod, it does pose a multitude of technical issues, which one can only hope that the devs can address in future patches; currently, the game is not enjoyable. In the short time I've played, I've become perspective locked (couldn't look around) almost as often as I've interacted with a computer terminal; the ample bolt-lock weapons seem to cause the game to hang in VATS as the slow reload often allows hostiles to just waltz out of firing range into cover, and the aforementioned completely busted settlement feature was a disappointment. Still, if these issues are fixed, London might be quite enjoyable.

A litle laggy but overall fantastic.

I'm not british but god damn if I didn't love this mod. It was incredible and I will 100% be coming back to play it again in the future once I get some better hardware and can run the game a bit more smoothly. Thank you all for making this, I look forward to what you guys do next.

Technical issues

The devs clearly worked hard. There's a tremendous amount of love and care. I find myself wanting more. However, it took some fiddling to get the game going and I'm still having crashes every hour or so. Every cinematic crashes the game. I have to mash T to skip them. Crashes are typical for modded Bethesda games, but it does sour the experience for me, somewhat. I'm tired of finagling mods. I'm hoping GoG can continue tinkering to make things more stable. The game itself is fantastic.

Could have been the best, but...

I have three runs, one at release and a couple after patches, of around 10 hours each before I hit a game halting bug. Settlements are broken with npcs just standing around staring into the water, if I dismiss a companion they're gone for good because they never go where their told and they'll never join my party again, each time I played I went if different directions and each time I'd eventually hit a quest breaking bug that halted my ability to keep playing on a variety of quests. No matter how far back I reloaded the quests would break again. There have been no patches since then. There was talk of a big patch and DLC, but from what I can see they've gone silent. This is truly a shame because so much of the game is brilliant. The world is amazing, the characters are almost all well done, the story is very interesting so far and I just love exploring it. If the level of quality was maintained throughout, this could have given New Vegas and Fallout 2 a run for the best Fallout game period, mod or not. Instead at this point it's just a frustrating broken mess. Before investing the time to go through this I'd really wait for the possible patch and DLC. Despite the high reviews this game was not ready for prime time.
