Title is self explanatory and add the upcoming New Vegas mod.
I played the game back on Xbox One and all I can tell is that this game plays better than Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but lacks significantly in story and is an "RPG-lite" rather than a proper RPG.
To say this is an RPG is some what of a lie. It's VERY railroaded honestly. So many quests require these scripted events to even complete them and once you finish the game four times you realize that really every faction only has a handful of unique quests or ways to complete them. Pretty much everything boils down to good option or bad option. It's not like you're really punished either way too. This could be due to the complete gutting of the stat and dialogue system. Yeah spoiler, here's every dialogue option in Fallout 4. Yes, No, Sarcastic (Yes), Question (Yes). Fallout 4 gives you the illusion of choice. In reality you can't do squat without doing it in a very specific order. Also don't even get me started on retconns and pretty terrible factions. It's honestly really lazy and just goes to show that Bethesda really can't see Fallout past power armor and super mutants. That's the hate part of this relationship. The love part is the amazing gameplay loop, looting, and exploration. Bethesda somehow delivers more intruiging stories through enviroment than through their actual main campaign. It's very fun to have to scrap from rescources and find new weapons or gear. Not the mention the combat is very fun. My suggestion is to ignore the main story and just explore every avliable area that you can. Pretend you don't have a family at all! Trust me it's better this way. If you don't care about previous Fallout games then yeah this is a good game to get. Easy and fun to get into. If you're a hardcore Fallout fan then this game might dissapoint you.
But Fallout London is currently unplayable for me. So I play Vanilla FO4 on survival again. So far I am having a blast!
If you do not own Fallout 4 yet and a intrigued because of the Release of Fallout London but are unsure if you even end up liking it or not, or, if you can even Run the Mod or not, you really cannot go wrong with the GOTY Edition of Fallout 4 at the current price of 15.99€.
If you do not care for Fallout London and just want to play a Post Apocalyptic RPG then you cannot go wrong either with this.
Pros:
- Full Open world where you can, either follow the quest markers, or turn every quest marker off and explore to your own liking
- Great OST
- Allows for alot of different builds like full melee, Stealth, Guns Blazing maniac, sarcastic idiot who doesn't give a damn and so on. Whatever floats your boat.
- Great Voice acting and everything is fully voiced
- If you are into base then there is that too! You can build your own settlements and later on even chain them together with supply routes so they all share inventory (locked behind a skill) or don`t touch it. At least not for 99% of the time*
- Includes all DLC`s
- easy to immerse yourself in this world
- every item, even clutter has purpose ( clutter items like empty cans have resources tied to them so you can brake them down and use them for crafting)
- crafting system where you can upgrade weapons, armor, make food or chems
- Survival mode where you have to eat, drink and sleep and can get sick
Cons:
- * there is one single quest which unfortunatly forces you to tap your toe into the base building mechanic, but just for a very short time
- sometimes NPCs get funky and stuck between objects but they usually get out of it (however might break immersion for some of you. )
- if you are a hoarder and cleptomaniac you will be often overencumbered
I was super stoked to play this expansion of my favorite RPG ever, but found myself very disappointed.
This game is uninspired, un-fun and uninstalled.
