Point Lookout - Embark on a mysterious and open-ended adventure in a huge, murky swampland along the coast of Maryland.
Mothership Zeta - Defy hostile alien abductors and fight your way off of the alien mothership, orbiting miles above the Capital Wasteland.
Main Features:
Limitless Freedom - Take in the sights and sounds of the vast Capital Wasteland! See the great monuments of the United States lying in post-apocalyptic ruin! You make the choices that define you and change the world. Just keep an eye on your Rad Meter!
Experience S.P.E.C.I.A.L. - Vault-Tec engineers bring you the latest in human ability simulation — the SPECIAL Character System! The Power of Choice - Feeling like a dastardly villain today, or a Good Samaritan? Pick a side or walk the line, as every situation can be dealt with in many different ways. Talk out your problems in a civilized fashion, or just flash your Plasma Rifle.
Blast 'Em Away With V.A.T.S. - Even the odds in combat with the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System for your Pip-Boy Model 3000! V.A.T.S. allows you to pause time in combat, target specific body parts on your target, queue up attacks, and let Vault-Tec take out your aggression for you. Rain death and destruction in an all-new cinematic presentation.
Mind-Blowing Artificial Intelligence - At Vault-Tec, we realize that the key to reviving civilization after a global nuclear war is people. Our best minds pooled their efforts to produce an advanced version of Radiant AI, America's First Choice in Human Interaction Simulation. Facial expressions, gestures, unique dialog, and lifelike behavior are brought together with stunning results by the latest in Vault-Tec technology.
Eye-Popping Prettiness* - Witness the harsh realities of nuclear fallout rendered like never before in modern super-deluxe HD graphics. From the barren Wasteland, to the danger-filled offices and metro tunnels of DC, to the hideous rotten flesh of a mutant's face. *Protective Eyewear Encouraged.
I bought this game and it does not open! on site says it is compatible with windows 10 so i bought it here on steam it says it is not compatible with windows 10. my pc specs: windows 10 64 bit i5 4670k 16gb ram ram rx570 4gb. Steam is very easy to make a refund, here at GOG not! This is the second and last purchase I make here. my language is portuguese if my english is bad I apologize
Almost unplayable without mods, can't recommend.
Even with mods it's not what you want to play, but if you have incredible desire to play it for some reason - better try Tale Two Wastelands, it's Fallout 3 + Fallout New Vegas on NV Engine with all cool features like Iron Sights, great mod support and many more.
Unlucky that Fallout 3 abandoned by devs and modders long ago so I don't see value of game at all.
I hope Fallout 4 Next Gen version will appear in GOG, it will be sicc
I'm a big fan of Wasteland, Fallout, and Fallout 2. I also enjoy open world games. I just played Fallout 3 for the first time. While I didn't hate it I would recommend giving it a pass.
The plot is largely a rehashing of plot points from the previous games. The world makes much less sense and has less internal logic than the previous entries, with lots of obvious inconsistencies and headscratchers. The switch to FPS means manually slogging over terrain at a pretty slow 'run' speed to get places instead of the ten second, overhead map travel of previous entries.
It allows the player to sequence break, but doesn't adequately adjust for that - people, including the PC, just KNOW things they shouldn't because they would have if The One True Path had been followed.
It's stunningly easy. The freely-acquired pet dog can singlehandedly wipe out a nest of ten foot tall deathclaws, the toughest enemies in the game. My sneaky-build character without weapons training handled all comers without breaking a sweat, using whatever weapons happened to be lying around, never bothering to sneak... and this is with me randomly wandering the corners of the map to unlock quicktravel locations so the quests, when I got around to them, would not take hours.
The epilogue just mentions your overall karma rating and what happened in the last ~20 minutes of the game. Gone are the town-by-town postscripts, apparently.
The later Fallouts have a requtation for bugginess, but plenty were on display here. Windows 11 shut down ~something~ spyware adjacent as soon as the launcher boots up. Characters walk into hovering midair positions. Random crashes every two hours or so. Some endless audio cycling.
Exteriors are ugly and repetative, and interiors have a weird filter that grows to be headache inducing after a while.
It's subpar for a major studio open world game, and it's subpar for an early Fallout game. It's not awful, but I'd recommend S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Arcanum instead.
I got this game as it says on GOGs own store page that this game works on Windows 10.
Regrettably, it doens't. This is both disappointing, and surprising considering many games on GOG being ported or reconfigured for Win 10 compatability.
If you have Windows 10, I cannot recommend this game in its existing state.
