Working and enjoyable

While not recent, the game is still enjoyable and working correctly on my computer, it's not a recent computer, it may explain why the game is working on my computer and not on recent computers, I suggest people having crashes to try to install old windows 7/8 and/or latest versions of Direct X 9, 10 and 11 to play it. Fallout New Vegas and its DLCs were very enjoyable, I'm looking to find out if this Fallout 3 and its DLCs are as enjoyable as New Vegas. Thanks to GOG.

Great game in the Fallout series

A great game i would recommend to anyone, with a nice story line and a very dark atmosphere throughout you will find a lot of fun in this title. This may not have the rpg decision making of the other games but it packs a solid punch in terms of its story line and very fun areas to explore with the combat system being decent and character progression/levelling to chose how you wish to develop. I enjoyed this a lot and for the relatively small price there is a lot of game here.

one of the most modded games ever...

fo3 vanilla is just an OK game, many problems, all kinds of crashes and framerate suffering and various other issues, but the good news is that there are all kinds of mods on nexusmods to take care of those issues as well as just make the game all around better. you can lose yourself for months just adding mods and trying them out, if for no other reason get this game just because of the active modding community. for those of you who are having the crash on startup problem it's probably because you have one of those crappy INTEL HD GRAPHICS cards, and guess what...there is a mod to fix that as well, i think it's called a bypass package. so when they have their next sale why not grab it and give it a try?

lots of bugs but lots of fun!

There are definitly a lot of bugs in the game, but the story and open world makes it fun. I played this after FO4 and FNV. There are a lot of modding guides out there to help with the bugs and overhaul some quests or designs. It was a learning curve to figure out the gameplay coming from a more recent fallout title, but nothing unbareable.

do not buy...does not work on WIN 10/11

warn you against buying on GOG. The game still does not work on Win 10 or Win 11 - it crashes on startup or crashes to the desktop after a few moments of playing yes, I know there is INTEL HD bypass - but sooner or later the game goes to hell... GOG support stubbornly refuses to upgrade to version 1.7.0.4 - now you know why it does not work - because the game works on STEAM & EPIC. Cool - right?
