Unwittingly, Earth scientists awoke the sleeping giant of the Tauran war machine. The same deep-space probes that first discovered New Haven also alerted the aliens. Its Fallen Haven I cant believe it!

Once upon a time was a child, who couldnt spend much in videogames. Then one day he saw a magazine called "Tiempo" (Time) that brought a game called Fallen Haven. That child hadnt a fucking idea what was that game going but there was a tank in the cover and that was cool, so he bought it for 500 pesetas (less than 2 euros nowadays), and that game gave him hours and hours of fun game time. That child its me and i dont remember if that was my first game or not but i can say you thatm without being well known, it gave me so much fun for a fucking 2 euros thats way i love it... The game its limited, graphics could be better, the sound quality is low but this game doesnt need that because it has something special that makes you spend hours and hours on it while the sun rises from the east and its hidden on the west.. Thank you so much GOG for rescue my memories, I instant bought it.

simple, easy but fun!

Nice turn based strategy game. Inspired by Battle Isle, but not a lot of depth, which makes it a fun, lightweight experience. Ingame Graphics are ok, everything else was bad even way back. Nice for a couple of hours light strategy.

My favorite strategy game

Back in 1996 I got my hands on Fallen Haven Demo, the demo of a game developed by I-Magic, and it was a wonderful experience! Fallen Haven has two types of gameplay: Strategic and Tactical. Strategic is when you develop your base, grow your army, in general all the administrative part, while Tactical is either when you attack your enemy or you get attacked by them. Unlike other strategy games, your base and your enemy's base(s) are situated on different maps, and you use a ship to transport troops from map to map when you attack or relocate. Make sure you build artilleries as early as possible, since they're vital to your attack force. I remember getting beaten by the AI in the demo because when I was a kid I had no clue I could build equivalent tanks to what he had, so I was unaware I could fight back his artillery with mine. The game has a set of unique mechanics that were neither used before, nor after, and it is what makes it unique. Graphics might look outdated, but by God, it looked wonderful on my old CRT monitor! It deserves all 5 stars!

Best classic game ever

It´s a VERY old game, one of the first games i did ever played, and i have such a good memories of it. In the game you have 2 campaigns, in one there's a race between you and the alien faction (taurans) to grow and conquer the planet, the final goal is always capture your enemy capital, but in the first one each faction starts with only one province and all the other provinces are neutral, while in the other one your enemy has all the planet except your capital and you have to manage to re conquer it. To make it more interesting the computer based faction can made orbital attack it means they can attack any of your provinces without controlling the neighbour province, you can be winning the game, when suddenly an orbital attack over your capital can kill your game. Some provinces have an X in the map, it means they have an special reward if you do whatever is required there, like destroy a certain laboratory or avoid to destroy any building . In general terms as strategy game i LOVE it, yes its basic, the graphics are really old and the music is limited but very strong (i love it) but it´s a mid 90´s game and is way way way way better than any game of that time.

Simple, yet entertaining

I played this game decades ago, when I still went to primary school. Little me knew no English, so I had limited understanding of creatively named units like "Mega Tank" (it wasn't the best localisation). I still have the disk somewhere, with its original packaging and manual. The game IS old by now, and the pictures remind me that it can be described as positively ugly today, but even the graphics and limited sound quality didn't detract from it having a pretty good atmosphere. I know I spent an unhealthy amount of time with it, at times risking bladder malfunctions because I wanted to do yet one more turn. The game: Game Design is deceptively simple. There's two playable factions, humans and taurans, and a human neutral faction. Human units are generally slightly faster with higher range, Tauran units nearly across the board have up to +50% hp and damage, but also cost about as much more. There's a strategic map upon which you can select your own provinces to manage their buildings and defences, and click on hostile provinces to attack them. An attack is performed by up to 3 transports, provided you have those; a transport holds 8 units. The enemy faction may sometimes raid some of your frontline provinces, as well. The game offers as unit types ground vehicles (tanks, artillery, etc.), different shades of fast hovercraft, and infantry. The Backstory fits on 1-2 pages of the manual: Human colony planet, largest province (Haven) wants independence, other provinces are supplied by terran company for war, then aliens show up. There's 2 "campaigns", being 2 strategic maps, one of them with neutral colonies in the middle, the other with your enemy holding the entire map but your starting province. The side that captures the other's capital wins. The game has an enormous nostalgia factor for me, and is actually well thought out and balanced - but it is also 23+ years, and it shows.
