Fallen Enchantress
A World to Build… or Destroy.

“A war is coming… a war between East and West - between Kingdoms and Empires, between man and Fallen. A future of blood and death, of chaos and destruction.
– the Oracle Ceresa

Design your sovereign with unique talents and weapons for the trials ahead. Learn powerful spells to enchant units, summon elementals, or destroy those who oppose you. Found cities and research technologies to expand your influence. Send your champions on quests to recover ancient artifacts, gain allies, or obtain the great wealth lost during the Cataclysm.

The land is not simply waiting to be claimed; it must be conquered. Darkling camps, ogre lairs and caves waiting to be explored dot the landscape. In remote corners of the world, tireless butchermen, fell demons and legendary locations are waiting to be found. Explore Varda, a pre-Cataclysm city defended by golems that have turned on the citizens and made the city into a prison. Defeat Sarog to claim the Temple of the Dragon and recruit Ashwake Dragons to your cause. Claim the Flooded Graveyard or the Pit of Sarpah to harness the powerful magical energy of those locations.

Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes
The Fallen Enchantress seeks to destroy the civilizations that have risen from the ashes of the Cataclysm. Fortunately, your fame has spread and great heroes have been drawn to your banner. With your new champions, you will confront horrors like liches, brood hunters, banshees, and the dreaded hergon. Players will forge a new empire in a world sundered by powerful magic, fight against terrible creatures, complete quests and rediscover lost secrets in their bid to rule the world of Elemental.

Key Features
  • Gain Champions Through Fame: Champions are no longer simply found, instead, they seek you out based on the amount of Fame your kingdom has generated. And not all of these legendary heroes were Men or Fallen…
  • New Leveling System: Your sovereign and champions now evolve through a skill tree that visually allows you to plan what kind of hero you want him or her to be. Make your mage into a powerful Necromancer, or train your Assassin in special attacks that bleed the life from your enemies.
  • Updated Tactical Battles: Battles are now more intense with additional special skills, combat mechanics, spells and new maps.
  • New Monsters: The legendary heroes didn’t reach our lands alone. The events of the Fallen Enchantress have raised the dead and caused forgotten creatures to return to the surface of the world.
  • More Magic: New spells like ‘Lightning Form’ and ‘Raise Skeletal Horde’ add new options and dangers to battle.
  • Larger Maps: A new gigantic sized map delivers truly epic games.
  • Updated Graphics Engine: An improved graphics engine delivers stunning new visuals while improving performance on older machines.
  • And much, much more!

Wasted potential

I'm a huge fan of turn based strategies. Playing Civ series since Civ 2 around 2000 year as a kid. If i would play Civ 2-6 on platform like GOG Galaxy the time count would be something like 10k hours. Played also all of AoW games (mostly 2+addon and 3+addons), Endless Legends, Space empires 4 and a few more games with notable time. I had the "one more turn syndrome" for a few hours with this game played like 5 games. Couldn't play more because computer players are dumbest of all games I played. The aim of all 4x games is to take some land and after that win in one of the conditions. In this game winning is like playing a tutorial game. The AI is doing NOTHING. They build two or max 3 cities, build a little of units for first several turns and after that they are acting like there is nothing that they can do. Longstory-short: The game can grab you for a few hours, but after you realize that PC players are doing nothing the game comes from hero to zero. I feel like wasting my money. Buy any other 4x game if you want to game like this. Sorry developers, but It could be a 8/10game if the AI would do anything beyond first few turns. Giving 2 stars because this game got potential. Shame that it is wasted.

Hero-Focused 4x (and How to Fix Crashes)

Skip to the bottom if you want to see how to (probably) fix crashes. At least it worked for me. But first here's the actual review. This game is basically a 4x turn-based fantasy-RPG where if you want to, you can win almost entirely with heroes. Similar in some respects to Endless Legend but this has bigger (optional) focus on heroes, powerful loot drops, spells, and leveling up, and greatly reduced city micromanagement. To me, less micromanagement in a 4x game is generally a good thing. Individual cities are each specialized either towards science, population/economy, or elite military unit production, but build choices aside, the management is simple and fast. To me this is a big advantage since I normally like small scales with low numbers of cities. On this game city number doesn't matter a whole lot in terms of micromanagement. Combat is generally good but some aspects are unpolished. The reason I would give 4 rather than 5 stars is because the combat system could be better. Also auto-resolve does not like squishy and/or ranged units so that can be tedious depending on army composition. On that note, units and unit designs/traits/equipment can also be customized so you can create exactly the units and armies you want. --- CRASHES (and how to fix) --- If you get an unlucky roll on the hardware dice, the game may be almost unplayable by default. I'm on Windows 11 with a nearly brand new computer and on a very large monitor. By default, something was causing the game was to crash every 5 minutes or so. To fix 99% of these crashes, here's what worked for me. Right click the exe or shortcut and go to the Compatibility tab: 1. Run the program in Compatibility mode for Windows 8 2. "Disable fullscreen optimizations" You may also test disabling some extra graphics settings in game. For me, the above 2 steps went from crashing every 3-5 minutes to once every 8 hours maybe. It may not be a universal fix but this is what fixed it on my machine.

The best MoMish game on GOG

Ultra good fantasy turn based game (with strong rpg elements)! If you like games like Age of Wonders, Master of Magic, Hereos of Might and Magic III, Fall from Heaven II (mod for Civ IV) , must buy Fallen Enchantress Legendary Heroes! This game is worth every one $. Play with mods! One of the best : XtraDeconstruct: Legacy of Magic http://forums.elementalgame.com/451107 With this mods pack game is almost perfect! 9,5/10

Flawed.

This game is flawed. Sometimes it will run and sometimes not. When it starts, after a few hours, it will become unstable and begin to freeze unexpectedly. So you have to save, quit and then restart it. That's a shame because, it is a good game full of creativity and good ideas. But then again : this is a flawed game...

Promising game that seems unfinished

Even though this is already the version 3.0 of the standalone expansion the game is completely unbalanced. The good things: atmosphere, tech tree, buildings and city levels. But the game is bland and goes into grinding because you have to do a lot of insignifanct choices. The worst part is summoning - the air elemental is the second summon you get and it is the best by far, because initiative concept is broken. A high initiative let's your unit attack 10 times while the other just stand there and wait. Pyre of Man is the last summon you get - a huge beast with a lot of HP - but only remains for 3 actions - 3 actions of the summoner that is - so the Pyre of Man ends up not getting any (!) action. This summon is completely useless and it is the last one you get...
