Yay content, nay menus
Fae Tactics is an impressively long and deep Strategy RPG that is not afraid of keeping decently high difficulty or permanently missable content. My first playthrough with about 87% completion took 62 hours, altho I may overthink the pre-battle prep at times. The dev team consisting mainly of 2 people, who aimed to make an SRPG that streamlines all of the menus that you usually mess with during fights. For the most part, they succeeded. Each of your characters only has 3-4 different actions to take per turn, depending on the context of your mouse-clicks, but your characters are still interesting to play with, because each has a whole page of passive abilities to exploit through correct plays. During fights, you even have a Quick Guide you can pull up to check elemental match-ups, just by holding Spacebar. There's a crazy amount of story content in this game, barely fought any random battles myself. The stories of the individual characters take a while to get moving, but I'd say they're pretty nice, surprisingly dark for the game's aesthetic, and a lot of them eventually tie into main plot and have their own ending slides a la Fallout. The game will not let you finish this game freely tho, even on Normal there were nearly dozen fights I had to retry to beat. Some multiple times, you can't really grind to power through any of the encounters past early game. The one downside of this game, is that as of now, the menus that DO still exist (thankfully only between fights) are still pretty terrible. For example, you have 42 scrolls in the game that give different passive abilities to your leader characters... and you have to switch this equipment by clicking right or left arrows! They're apparently still going to improve them, but right now, they need work. I've been waiting for this game since Valdis Story, and it did not disappoint. I'd say this is a very good purchase for any SRPG fan wanting something new and meaty to sink their teeth into.
