The gold standard when it comes to factory games. Base game is enjoyable enough, but the community also has some great overhaul mods giving you an entire new playthrough.

more addictive than crack

the base game is nice and dandy, but nothing to write home about. until you click a button which throws you down a rabbit hole called Mods. be it quality of life, additional content, total conversions or plain old cheating. you can download, (un)install and enable/disable any number from the thousands of mods available. and the best thing is you can do all that in game, because the mod manager is integrated. and if you want to play the newest experimental version, take your serial key from GOG and register on https://factorio.com/ , then you get access to the newest, but probably bug infested (pun intended) version. another advantage of registering your game is, you can crossplay with other players.

It's, by far, the best construction game I ever played. I even play factorio when I want a trains game, because its signaling system is awesome. I give it 5 stars already, cos although there are some things that I don't like of the game, I know they're already working on improving it (and, for what I've already seen, changes will be impressive; at least all the UI changes, which is in what they're already working right now).

I cannot recommend this game if you have other hobbies, friends, family, a job, or (generally speaking) a life. Seriously, this game is addictive. I start the game, get absorbed, and some hours later I find myself wondering what time it is, just to find out that I've played 6 hours straight without noticing it. I'll let that speak for itself.
