Expeditions: Rome is a surprisingly detailed tactical RPG that takes you through three huge theatres of the Roman republic on a personal quest for revenge or triumph. This story is what you make of it, packed full of meaningful decisions that influence many aspects of the game. Adding to this story is a robust character development system that feeds into the excellent combat, with multiple side-missions to develop both characters equipment and stories, as well as your war camp. The game feels like it could become dull, but never reached that point and is one well worth it for any RPG fan.

Great game with a few caveats
Worth full price. A few things I find frustrating but that's what happens when you play on harder difficulties. The tactical combat is good and the story is great.

Complex, but great game
This is a wonderfully deep strategy game, full of tough choices and plentiful options. There's a lot to learn, but each new element adds strategic layers.

Wonderful game!
Not normally of fan of text-based RPGs but love turn-based strategy. Got this game as a langauge learning tool (Polish text available) and it surpassed my expectations completely! Just started my second play through

Tactical combat + story + history + RPG
Most realistic ancient Roman era tactical combat game I have seen. Even uses the correct (as far as I can tell) ancient Roman terms. Highly polished. Deep story. Characters develop and interact. A unique combination.
