Not fun? Maybe it's just me.
This game is excruciatingly difficult. I recall reading or seeing about the death mechanic, which is supposed to be "rewarding" and not a setback. At this point in time, it is definitely a setback, and definitely not rewarding. Progress, upgrades, and money are all lost fully on each death; everything must be re-learned and re-earned. There's no corpse retrieval, nothing to soften the blow at all. Maybe I'm missing something, because it seems like death and restarting from scratch are absolutely identical, in terms of gameplay. Every NPC opponent I've come across has wiped the floor with me in just a few seconds, giving me a very intense feeling of helplessness each and every time I am noticed by an enemy. The fights are not even close, because often there are multiple enemies that spot me at a time, and they are *very* good shots. My shield is gone in less than 1 second after they start firing, which, again, is the very opposite of fun. I'm not a 1337 PRO GAMER newb killer 69 or anything like that, so maybe this game isn't for me. I don't know. I can tell you that right now, I am very annoyed, and I will not be playing this game again for several days, if at all.
