Highly addictive

I was very skeptical at first - the concept of a roguelike in space and then with arcade-like handling instead of being a sim seemed so wrong to me. But after trying it out I just can't get enough of it. Everything is just so well implemented: - looting is great fun and does not feel grindy at all - there are quite a few learning opportunities (little handholding) - the first time these can be a bit frustrating, but after overcoming them there is a true sense of achievement. - fights are fair - if you die it's usually because you did something wrong, or there was something new you needed to learn - even if you die, the perk system ensures you enjoy going right back into the game - there are so many different weapons and other equipment that make for really great gameplay - your ship AI is bound to keep you entertained and delighted with his commentary as well. I would happily pay for the game even if the current version was the final release, but the developers will add even more stuff. Do not miss out on this!

Fun, Replayable, Beautiful

Very addicting. Every time I pick it up, I play it for several hours. I can't really follow the story because I don't play often enough, but the dialogue is humorous and I'm hoping that if I keep at it, I'll eventually stop sucking at the game. Graphics look amazing, gameplay is solid, no bugs that I've found, and replayability is high with all of the different unlocks and customizations. Definitely recommend it!

Much better than expected

What a beautifully crated game. I'm almost ashamed that I got it at a discount. Will infidelity be buying the expansion at full asking price as soon as possible.

Bland And Boring.

Roguelike spacesim. Maybe it can be made into a good combo. This isn't it. Targeting is atrocious: even following the marker only 20% shots hit. Enemy has near perfect aim. You're going to take substantial damage if there's more than 1 enemy. Theres always more than 1 enemy. Timed factor in space sectors: It's just dreary moving the distances from point to point. It consumes SO much time. In a roguelike you want to be always building. Not grinding. When you die after having spent 5 minutes moving through mostly empty space to get a space nugget to build whatever, what is the point? Love roguelikes. This turns the genre to a heap of poo.

In space no one can hear you rage-quit

[Game In Development Review] I would like to say thanks to the developers of this game - it is beautiful and I enjoy playing it. The game itself is really easy to get a hang of, but it will not be one to hold your hand. You are in space and there are those who will want to kill you and they will not show mercy. You are no superman and picking fights will get you killed very quickly, especially at the beginning when you have the initial crappy gear you start out with. Clearing a stage of enemies fully is likely reserved to far better pilots than most players. One thing that I have to say is very annoying, is that when you find good gear, but subsequently get killed, the gear is lost. There are perks you can buy that allow you to find your previous killed wreck and try to recover gear, but its unreliable and very frustrating when that happens. It could be I did not play far enough, but when you do eventually get killed in the game, you start out right at the beginning with the same crappy load-out every time. The above issue wouldn't be so bad if some balancing issues were resolved. If you try to be careful and find all the gear in an area to try to give yourself a fighting chance, an enemy frigate would jump next to you and wipe the floor with your ship, no matter how good you are. This happens even early on in the game which is frustrating. Fun game tho The Good: - Graphics are great but not too taxing - runs well on my ageing HD5850 video card - 4X controls are easy and intuitive on keyboard, plus controller support with vibration - UI is very simple and easy to use - clean, visual, layout and design - Different weapons require different strategy - Combat is fast and satisfying (if you win) - The ship has components that can be crippled (i.e. engines get damaged) The Bad: - When you die, you start from the beginning - components can and will disappear - Balancing issues still need to be worked out, especially in the first sectors where you have no good gear
