Europa Universalis II

Unfortunately the lack of a windowed mode or support for modern monitors makes this game unplayable. It was an awesome game though. And if eventually they patch this to add a windowed mode, it'll be totally worth to revisit. But as it currently is, unless you have an old monitor, give it a pass.

I think this is good game with good gameplay

I loved EU3 a little bit more than is healthy so now, a decade later, i decided to give its predecessor a shot. And it was so rough i honestly just gave up after a few minutes. The controls are all wrong. Not zooming with the mouse wheel is bad enough, but Space not pausing the game is terrible. Instead you have to use the tiny Pause button somewhere on the top right of your keyboard. It's EU, you constantly want to pause and unpause. Such a bizarre choice. The game is also extremely limited when it comes to starting nation/time. There are 8 scenarios with 1-8 countries each. There's maybe 30 countries in total. There is no option to just pick any country and any starting date like in EU3. It does run in Windows 10, but it crashes every time i exit. Overall, you're better off getting a newer version of EU.

When i play europa universalis as a young man, 15 years ago, everything was beautiful :P But now after return, i plaed over 200 years using different nations, and i never had stabilization over 2 points :) in 5 years you have 3 events, which reduce your stabilization by 5 points, but and you need 9 years to repair it :P In my budget i only invest in stabilization, this is madnes, game is unplayable now :( Too many patches for hardcore players, its look like you installed all patches but you don't tested your result, sad.
