Fun if you like ES2
The new mechanics: -New Behemoth class (mega) ships. Each faction begins with the ability to build 1 Behemoth (2 if Hissho) and can increase this number by researching Behemoth-related techs (an extra ship per every 4 techs). There are 4 types of Behemoths: -Mining: Places mining probes on uncolonized planets to gain resources. -Science: Hovers over special nodes to give a tech discount. -Economic: Hovers over planets to give a FIDSI bonus -Military: Has huge firepower but cannot be merged into a fleet (usually considered the worst) While one could mix and match the behemoth types, in practice it's best to specialize the ship in one. Late game Behemoths can be 'upgraded' into Juggernauts, Citidels, or Obliterators, but tbh only Military Behemoths are worth 'upgrading' as Mining, Science, and Eco ones get to be extremely OP when min-maxed (aka easy mode). On a side note, the tech tree gets bloated with Behemoth techs, which I consider to be a negitive since the Sci victory is unchanged. New Faction: Hissho A military faction with emphasis on combat over conquer. The Hissho are one of the more unique factions in ES2. First, they begin the game with a Behemoth. Second, all Hissho mining probes give resources AND a percenage of the planet's FIDSI is sent to the Hissho homeworld. Third, the Hissho don't use 'approval' (and ignore approval penalties/bonuses), but instead use Keii which is mainly gained through fighting other players. The weakness? Hissho have an extremely low system cap and when they go over the cap gain a 5% FIDSI penality to all systems for each system over the cap. In practice, this means the 'Ideal' Hissho empire consists of a few scattered systems with Mining Behemoths 'patroling' the space in between. A fun change (and challenge) for a human player, but the AI will extremely struggle to play Hissho... While the Vaulters expansion is the fan favorate and Awakening is extremely disliked, Supremacy is firmly in the middle (tied with Penumbra).
