Lots of fun Lots of options Good solid game

It's definitely an escape velocity-like game... and by that I mean you slowly grind your way to bigger and bigger ships with no real story or mission to follow - at least as far as I've encountered so far. It's a fun time sink, but the Escape Velocity games were big in the 90s, so aside from notalgia, there's not a lot that these games to offer 30 years later.

Much like Between the Stars this game has lots of text in a box encounters at their space stations which is a good thing. However it is a top down low rez space game regardless of the action type which keeps you from enjoying your pretty space ships. Lots of equipment choices on those ships and even a few ones that affect the crew of your ships. It uses the crushing debt to buy your first ship trope but as usual it really isn't that hard to pay back the loan. In fact I'm on my second loan. There are no crew interactions as far as I can see which is where between the stars actually shines. The "story" is beginning to ramp up the political aspects and maybe they will allow you to do business at pirate bases without attacking other ships. All in all it was well worth my purchase at the sale price.

Could not stand the fighting. Otherwise could have been nice. Mayby for someone it will.

- Ship cannot be controlled with controller nor mouse, just keyboard only - in map view mouse stopped working and game restart was needed - 'v' for targeting asteroids... doesn't work - 'tab' for shoot... doesn't work - one missiong gives 10k, requires passing 5 system, passing each system costs 2.2k, do the maths - gameplay is: press J for auto-jump, press L for auto-land, do something, depart, press J...
