Encased: A Sci-Fi Post-Apocalyptic RPG

The game itself is very good. World, quests, story, dialogues re very good. The combat is ok but it doesn't dominate the game. The majority of playtime is story, dialogues and stuff. Fights can often be avoided. Shooting your way through is rarely necessary. That's how it should be. Things can be achieved, places reached in very different ways. using a nice, flexible skill system. I like the (maybe too) powerful stealth/crime system. So all is well? No. There is one BIG problem that could SO easily be avoided: The game has some annoying features. Like hunger, thirst (of course.... ) and tiredness. That would not be an issue if the difficulty settings were more flexible. (or the game had mod support) At least splitting the combat and the survival stuff difficutly. . That would also adress most of the criticism in reviews instantly. But no! More challenging combat also means annoying levels of survival busywork, inventory micromanagement and less carry weight. That is unnecessary and frustrating. Also there are drugs, medicne and stuff. I feel forcing a hunger/thirst system on top was REALLY unnecessary. --- I can't share complaints about technical issues at all. The game works fine. No technical issues. The max zoom is too close as ususal and sometimes the camera can indeed be a bit fiddly. The UI does it's job, So with the above exception i really like the game. Sadly that low difficulty for me. Competition i'd see: Wasteland 3. Which MASSIVELY overuses it's (MUCH better!) combat to grind playtime. Tiny levels are spammed with way too many enemies. Second fiddle story is ok but pretty generic multi faction stuff. Atom RPG/Trudograd has worse combat than Encased, and a poor UI. BUT everything concerning story, quests and world is VERY good. And like in Encased, THAT is the focus of the game, so quality of combat doesn't matter too much. And well, Fallout 1/2 are what they are. story good, skill system ground breaking. Combat horrible.

Developers make bugs on purpose because they didn't finish half of the game i'm talking about russo and emulator quest. I couldn't get into city because there is no city ready yet. I kill guard next to door and still couldn't open gates. At this moment it took me couple of H to finish everything and scout all locations. If final game will be so small like it is in this version then it will be very bad for people that bought it.

Excellent RPG with several ways to play the stories. Characters are interesting and engaging, the world and item systems is fairly detailed, and the character build system offers many possibilities both in combat and in the open-world. A must have for any RPG fan, especially for this price.

Didnt expect much from this game, but it is quite addictive so far :)

If youre a fan of the genre, itll be a good old purchase :)
