Empire Earth Gold Edition

One of my favourite games, which I had lost and so glad to get it on here cheap, but it doesn't seem to work for the most part, capaigns seem to work, but randomised matches (my favourite part) don't work

I played this game a lot in the past. Although it is very ambitious in scope and has a lot of cool elements, such as the temple-units and the rock-paper-scissor model for ground-fights, supplemented by increasingly advanced supplementary units, it doesn't live up to the idea of Age of Empires-throughout-the-ages. It just doesn't cut it. The biggest problems are the graphics, which, although in nice 3D, look absolutely ridiculously ugly up close, and the way the units work and move, which is extremely clunky et cetera.

GAME=10/10 COMPATIBILITY=2/10 << BIG GRAPHICS ISSUE with newer cards. Regardless of the redistribution of this game through GOG and the attempts they have made to update it, this game still fails to utilize the newer technology in newer graphics cards such as the GTX 800m series and above, which in turn, causes mass "flickering" and "Stuttering" along with black screens and ghosting. WINDOWS 8 - Do not listen to other users complaining about win8! the faults i have found have been down to the graphics architecture of the newer cards and Win8 actually handles this game well. GOG - This game needs sorting with a patch to include the compatibility with new cards!!!. 1/10

Just bought this today and only got 20 minutes of play out of it - I checked the forums for a fix and found a few posts about it not working on Windows 8. The game is great if you have a compatible system but not worth $6 for Win8 users.
