Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising combines a thrilling adventure through ancient ruins with the tale of one town’s rise from the ashes.
Drawn by lenses and other treasure in the nearby Runebarrows, our heroes learn that the town is struggling to rebuild after an earthquake and decide to help. Along the way, they’ll resolve disputes between eager adventurers and wary locals who don’t think the Barrows should be disturbed. And they’ll learn more about each other’s reasons for seeking treasure, deepening their bonds in the process.
As you will learn, these Runebarrows hide a great secret that has fateful implications for one of the characters. What begins as a simple treasure hunt turns into a dark conspiracy that will shake the world and plant seeds that carry over into the main story of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
The game will introduce a portion of Eiyuden Chronicle’s cast of characters in an original story with thrilling action and engaging town-upgrading elements.
There will be some perks for players that link the game with Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
*The name of one character from the Eiyuden Chronicle franchise has been changed from JB to CJ.
I had a good time with this.
-Controls were good with an XBOX controller
-The scenery and locations are beautiful
-The character animations are pretty stiff but are serviceable.
-The story and dialogue are good, and also skippable.
-The game respects your time by giving you everything you need to complete the quests without any guesswork.
-It does take quite awhile before the combat feels good because of movesets being blocked off by upgrades.
Overall a good time and didn't overstay its welcome with a ~15 hours playtime to %100
Knowing the Suikoden series helps understanding the depth of reference to the main game Eiyuden Chronicles : Hundred Heroes but it remains an excellent game nonetheless.
Player should play 1h30 to 2h00 to start unlocking gameplay features but diving into this brand new world is already mesmerizing. Can't wait for their turn-based RPG.
I love 2D RPG's and this one is pretty cool. Lasts around 8 to 12 hours to complete which is very good for the low price.
Playing this game has got me really excited for the main Eiyuden game release in 2023.
A casual 2D platform where you complete quest to advance and upgrade the village you work for. Keep in mind this game is not for everyone, you could potentially be bored right away; specially if you hate to reading dialogs. It is released as an appetizer for the main rpg game every Suikoden fan(me) is waiting for.
Thanks to that game now i know there is a spiritual successor of suikoden on its way and i can't wait for it !
Its purpose is obviously to introduce a few characters and the world while giving a little something to chew on for people that are waiting for Eiyuden Chronicle : hundred heroes to be release and actually advertising it for people like me that were clueless about it :D
