At the beginning, young Edna wakes up in the padded cell of an insane asylum with no memory of her past. She doesn’t have the slightest idea how she wound up there, but one thing is for sure, she wants out! After all, she feels perfectly sane – and her talking stuffed bunny Harvey agrees completely. Together, they attempt an escape and, in doing so, meet their extremely bizarre fellow patients – from the man in the bee costume to the pseudo-Siamese twins Hoti and Moti. But Dr. Marcel, head of the asylum, will stop at nothing to keep Edna from escaping. What does he have planned for her? And why was her memory erased? Gradually, Edna regains her memory of the time before her detention in her cell…

This is a very enjoyable point and click adventure game. Highly recommended. Just be aware that at the start of the game there's a puzzle where you need to get past a guard. Because of the poor implementation of this puzzle it looks like there are 2 guards, while in fact there's only 1. All other puzzles are logical and enjoyable. Also, the UI is a bit of a pain. The followup game, Harvey's New Eyes, has a lot better UI, but still not as good as games like Deponia and The Night of the Rabbit.
This game is ok as far as adventure games go. Most (but definitely not all) of the puzzles are intuitive, the game mostly bug-free, and the music and voice acting is alright.
The premise of the game is pretty interesting. Playing a clearly not-quite-sane person trying to escape an insane asylum is a fun premise. But, while the game starts silly, it gets rather dark at the end. Be warned: there is (implied and imaginary) graphic death imagery in the game.
While the game is mostly fair, there are a couple of rather unintuitive puzzles that I won't blame you for looking up. There's at least one puzzle that feels bugged but actually just wants you to perform actions in a particular way. Top it off with navigating the asylum in the mid-game taking way too long and it can get frustrating.
One final note: due to this being a translation of an originally German game, there are some odd bits of dialog here and there. It doesn't detract too much from the experience, but if you do notice, that's why.
This isn't Daedalic's best game, and that's not surprising being their first. However, it's entertaining enough and not too long. So, if you like adventure games, want a smaller game, and aren't easily discouraged, give it a try.
It was just all right. Most of the puzzles were good but some were very unintuitive and even after looking at a walkthrough I said "Really? How does that even make sense?" When you don't understand a puzzle even when you have help... that's a problem. The characters are not very likable and for being lighthearted fun the game gets really dark near the end. And the ending itself is terrible. After all those hours this is my reward? Booooooo!
Lots of moon-logic puzzles, get your walkthrough ready.
How many other games have a protagonist walking around barefoot in a half-tied hospital gown the whole time? The humor and atmosphere sold me here, some will like it as well, some won't.
Add 1 star if you can get it on a deep sale.
I've always loved point and click games - grew up playing Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry and so on. So I thought this would be fun. It was not. Without a doubt, the voice acting is simply atrocious. All the characters sound like they are voiced by the same actor doing slight variations of the same irratating voice. I found this made the game unplayable. The voices are not funny, they're annoying. I couldn't get past them... And I didn't think the game was funny, at all. Just lame.
As a side note, I did not experience any bugs or problems running the game with the exception of not being able to adjust the game resolution to that of my monitor. Ended up with two black bars down the side but other than that, it worked fine.
