Edna & Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes

This is a dark, clever, humorous, surreal game about insanity and mind control. Unfortunately it completely undermines itself when the player has to "accidentally" kill the entire student population of the convent school in order to proceed through the first chapter. It's kind of hard to side with the protagonist against the antagonists when the protagonist is a serial killer and the antagonists, for all their over-the-top cartoon villainy, are not.

The majority of tasks are straightforward and easy to accomplish. The mini-game puzzles are fair in difficulty, though the pizza one is rediculously hard. The humor in the game is fantastic as is expected from Daedalic. This is a good game for people who are inexperienced with point and clicks, and a must have for people who like Daedalics sense of humor.

The game is not perfect by any means, but it is still a very entertaining one, with lots of puzzles, with most being annoying and tedious, and some feeling a little obvious and lazy, of course I think the story is what makes this game unique, with very dark humor disguised in very childish art style, it caught me off guard as the plot advanced, but after a while I liked it and it was my main motivation to keep going and finish the game, also I was not a fan of the voice acting, but after while I learned to appreciate it, it wasn't that bad, but I think it could be better. Overall I would say it is a fun game, I even bought it twice after I played it on Steam, I would recommend it to the fans of the genre.

The game is trying way too hard. It wants to be le funny, with a one man stand up show. It distances itself from psychological aspects of the first game, instead giving us a really simple character. The story is not subtle enough. Daedalic have no idea what made the original so great, so they try to appeal to the market. A shame, because with some subtlety and more intricate and hidden dialogue, Lily's story could be engaging and deep.
