Description
Take the completely 3-dimensional landscape into account while planning your troop movements: you'll need to scale towering mountains, dig out protective bulwarks and create entire tunnel systems. Explosions and detonations can change entire regions in an instant.

Earth 2150: The 21st century was supposed to herald the dawn of a new age. The wars, famines and suffering of the last 20 millennia were to become a distant, fading memory, as scientific advances brought global peace and prosperity. The anticipated global conflict broke out with a violence that shook the planet to its core.

“The Moon Project” is one of the blackest chapters in the history of mankind. While the Lunar Corporation, the Eurasian Dynasty and the United Civilized States are preparing themselves for the last all-encompassing battle, work is being feverishly carried out on a secret project on the Moon.

“Lost Souls” sees the end of our beloved planet Earth. Devastating wars between the Eurasian Dynasty and the United Civilized States have wreaked havoc and caused mortal wounds to our planet, glaciers melted, the sea rose to a threatening level, and meteorite showers buried whole parts of the world. The only hope left for the population was the escape to the red planet Mars.
  • The Trilogy includes the original Earth 2150 campaign along with both expansions: The Moon Project and Lost Souls
  • A great mix of 4X and classic RTS elements
  • An innovative in-game unit creator that lets the player to research and build his own vehicles

DO NOT BUY IT, IF...

...your frustration-level is low. This game has THE WORST pathfinding-A.I. of any early 3D RTS out there. "Oh that guy is overreacting!" DUDE! NO! I play the earth-series a lot (Mostly The Moon Project) and i know, what i am talking about, when i say, that this A.I. will drive you nuts. Let me give an analogy, that is easier to understand: Let's say, you have a self driving car, that is powered by this games A.I. You get into the car, just to drive to your neighbor, that lives on the left of your house. It is just 5 meters, next door, okay? All, the car has to do is, to go down the driveway, turn left, go for 5 meters and you're there, okay? This A.I. will turn right...drive you around the city, just to come in on the other side. Yes, you have reached the goal, but at what cost? THAT'S the pathfinding in this game...for ONE unit! God help you, if you are trying to move armies, because the units will block each other. They'll cancel each others movement and they'll do so, while there are shorter alternives. I learned to deal with that, by babysitting my units and if you are willing to do so, this game is pretty fun. It has lots to offer, the unit-editor is great. You basically mix and match, until you have something you like. It is a lot of fun, IF...you are able to deal with the A.I., which is why i removed two stars. Yes! TWO stars, because the pathfinding is THAT bad.

Crashing

Excellent game - remember from 'first time around'. Problem is it's crashing on opening the construction centre, either through F1 or the tank icon. Any advice? 4 star rating onhow good I know it is...

Brilliant game BUT flawed gog-version

The game was brilliant and will remain as that. But the version from gog.com is unplayable. Every try to access the "construction center"-menu results in a crash. This menu is the only way to upgrade and modify your units and without that your chance for wining are below 1%. Nobody should buy this without a propper fix from gog.

2024: Still playable

TL;DR: If you liked the game back in the days, you will still like it today. By chance I was reminded about The Moon Project, which I liked to play 20 years ago. I learned out about the current issues when running the game (e.g. widescreen crash). So I use 4:3 resolution and downloaded a script "Earth 2150 Mix Sets by Junior_Djjr" because I had bad mouse response. The script also makes the game smoother by allowing 60 fps. I did not expect to have that much fun, but the game still feels good. When I was young I could not figure out every game mechanic. That is interesting to explore now. I enjoy plaing the overpowerd LC a lot :D Have fun!

Very fun if you let yourself enjoy it

I will start off by saying that at first I was put off by this game. Earth 2150 felt shoddy to me at first, but then I started to actually play and began enjoying it more and more. There are a few nags, like the campaign is a bit oddly laid out and takes a bit to get used to with your main base being played on simultaneously as your current game, there is nagging pathing issues that occasionally annoy, and certain weapons don't seem as good as they sound and get owned by another unit with no problem. Get past these, they are valid cons, but if you just pay attention to building up your army and winning, then the true fun comes out because all those are minor things you forget about once you stop looking at them. They are that small of a nuisance. Simply pick an army you like and simply play, then you will be like me and get hooked on Earth 2150 after a good 4 hours of trial and error. By the way, before Impulse came out I had this game on another Stardock store and forgot what it was called, had red and yellow letters in the name though. Anyway they sorta went under and that in turn had me lose my first copy of Earth 2150, and I do not regret buying it again.
