Description
In Duskers you pilot drones into derelict spaceships to find the means to survive and piece together how the universe became a giant graveyard.

Explore
You are a drone operator, surrounded by old gritty tech that acts as your only eyes and ears to the outside world. What you hear comes through a remote microphone. What you see is how each drone sees the world. Motion sensors tell you something's out there, but not what. And when you issue commands, you do it through a command line interface.

Adapt
You have to earn everything in Duskers, scavenging drone upgrades, drones, and even ship upgrades. But dangerous creatures lurk in these derelict ships, and weapons are rare, so you may need to think of a clever way to explore a military outpost using only a motion sensor and a lure. But even if you find a way, the sensor that you rely on may break down, or you may run out of lures, even your drone's camera feed can start to fail. A favorite strategy can't be exploited for long, so you'll have to continually adapt.

Survive
Duskers is set in a procedurally generated Universe, and when you die you lose everything. You not only need to worry about what hazards lay waiting for you in the derelicts, but also running out of fuel, or parts to modify your drones and ship. You are alone, isolated in the dark reaches of space. Only by sifting through what ship logs remain un-corrupted can you piece together what happened.

About Us
We previously made A Virus Named TOM and then were fortunate enough to get Indie Fund to help us fund Duskers. More about us at www.games.misfits-attic.com/

fantastic game

it looks a little intimidating at first, but it's easy to get a handle of the mechanics. The ambience is amazing, so turn the lights dim and boot up the console- you're in for a scary and engaging experience

Something fresh, can't get enough

I don't think that this review will give enough credit or praise to this game. It's something new, usually indie title lack polish, not this one. It's a great story-driven horror/thriller/comedy/action rogue-like sort of, can't quite describe it. !!! MINOR SPOILERS BELOW !!! I say comedy because the amount of laughter and cheer I got from my type-os or silly mistakes, like flushing my entire drone fleet into outer space accidentally or destroying the generator that powered the exit doors. Action on the other hand is because I was able to heroically tow away my wounded friends with my last drone and not only that but leave with the maximum loot possible. Horror-thriller is for the reason of having the worst upgrades and knowing that it is imperative to scavenge scrap and fuel otherwise it's certain death and you hear the swarms or drones behind the doors and you have no idea which one it is. Besides that the game has several random events like radiation leaking into rooms, various mob spawns, asteroid collisions and may be others which I am yet to experience. All in all, I've spent about 15 hours playing it and I can't get enough. Get it now - it's more than worth it's full price. I really hope for future updates, DLC and/or a second installment.

Impressive. Very... Impressive.

The game has lots of qualities: it's clever, well crafted, with great retro graphics and a good history. The result is way better and greater than the sum of the parts. Indeed, it looks like a mix of 80s aesthetics with a tech noir touch and some RPG mechanics. It does with 107 MB what most of the 10 GB games can't even imagine deliver. Now let me return to my good old and rusty ship and solve the mistery of this empty galaxy.

Eerie nerdy fun

Small as it is, with simplistic graphics and command input controls and almost no sound, this really packs some atmosphere. One of those games where most of the action is in your head, and the limited means to interact create suspense and a feeling of risk and reward. Great for those moments when you don't need a graphical bonanza, and when casual games are just too harmless.

Too Much RNG weighted Against You

I haven't gotten very far - at least, I don't think so. I have no idea how to judge progression. Is it based on the number of logs I find as I play? I've played for about 6 hours, which should be enough to form an opinion. Basically, everything is random, and the risks aren't worth the rewards. Mistakes or bad luck are punished severely, and can end your run. Good luck is some minor reward or upgrade. Your run ends either when you run out of fuel or viable drones. Essentially, gambling. You're betting everything in the hope of getting a minor payout. I'm sure extremely skilled players can make it work, but I don't have the pain tolerance to get there. No idea what the story is, but it's hinted that mankind did something to erase humanity from existance... The same premise every other mysterious disappearance of humanity turns out to be. It's a shame because the graphics are cool, and I like the concept. I just don't have the patience for slot machines with no jackpot.
