Wanna show your Very Improtant Item item to a druid? JOIN A FACTION!!!! Does it matter if said driud is a wall away and the dude guarding the door/bridge would go down with a single punch? NO!!!! JOIN A FACTION!!!! It's not a bad game but it's not a 4 for me. It's definitely better than a flat 3 but with GOG that's all you get. To the devs: Please add a New Game+ and more ways to permanently increase movement speed. A grindy walking simulator where a few secondary missions and minor differences in a few primary missions are the only difference between the paths you're forced to choose at the very biginning is is not very replayable. I had to do my second run in short sessions over several weeks and still couldn't to the end of chapter 4. I got so tired of it I'd rather watch the parts I missed in a Youtube video than continue playing.

Very immersive overall well rounded game

I bought this game off of an impulse bc it looked cool. I then continued to play for 4 hours straight. I couldn't believe how much I liked this game. It's immersive, the combat is fun but challenging, and it's attention to detail is astounding. The world is full of secrets, betrayals, people to meet, quests, and lots of fun to find. What I like most about it though is that the world will exist without you. Sure, you're still the main character, but it is just very immersive to see the world change and things evolve and die without your involvement. The combat is fun and rewarding. The wide range of weapons allows you to really approach it in whichever way you'd like, however usually I just go in head first. In another playthrough I may play with bows and daggers, or swords and shields. Or spears. Or traps. You get the point. The side quests are soooo well detailed and fit into the rest of the world perfectly. Choices really do matter and make differences, especially small decisions most games wouldn't do. Like stealing clothes from someone, they will notice and call you out for it. It wasn't the quest, in most games they wouldn't know. That's another level of immersive gameplay I haven't seen before. It's a super fun game that I'd try if you have the money. It'll last at least 20 ish hours if you enjoy it.

Phenomenal Game

Drova has great vibes. It's the best RPG of the year for me - though I doubt it's really going to get any mainstream attention (sadly). It uses a transparent but natural-feeling method to block progress: set enemies that are functionally impossible to kill until you gear up at the opening of new areas. And then lock those necessary gear levels behind story progress. In addition to making it feel like you could go anywhere but shouldn't, it adds a feeling of danger to the exploration. You definitely need to run away from stuff early on. The story is ok, but there are a lot of good characters. On major complaint that I have is that items that you actually end up needing for quests or shines/wells still get marked as "junk" that can be safely sold. It's annoying having to go back and re-buy something you sold for a much higher price than you sold it (if you can even remember which vendor you sold it to). Overall, I highly recommend it.

An ARPG you should really play!

This game is an amazing 2D pixelart openworld action RPG in the best possible way. I totally agree with all the other reviewers who praised this game, it's absolutely deserved. Almost everything has been said about this game, so I just wanted to add some additional points that the game has: - Fully customizable keyboard and mouse controls - Free saving whenever you want (except in combat, dialogs or cutscenes, which is totally fine by me) - Unlimited inventory (as far as I can tell, I've collected a TON and never ran into problems) - Two sets of weapons you can change with a button press (like in Diablo 2 or Titan Quest) I'm looking forward to all the rest the game has to offer, there a surprises waiting at every corner of the map! Enjoy!

Just2Great - Good job!

I would never have expected to play in 2024 a game so inspired by the historic Gothic series, which many of us still have in our hearts after twenty years, that was also original in its own way. Drova is an open world Action RPG in a 2.5D style that offers a top-notch exploration of the game world, a combat system that seems banal at first glance but that instead improves and becomes more complex as time passes and with the development of the character, a good amount of quests and two factions to choose from. The world is certainly hostile especially to newcomers and you have to bend over backwards just to be accepted by the others, not to mention the monsters that populate the areas just off the beaten path that are ready to tear the character to pieces. The road is hard, growth is slow but soon with a little patience, a little risk and a sharp eye the player will have the upper hand and when he is more confident here is the story and the game world begin to unravel involving ancient lost civilizations, deities and much more. Let's say that the work done by Just2D for me was above expectations. Basically they did a great job on every front but I would advise them to make a little more effort in a future title and add some content because with a similar setting and an original idea regarding the main quest it seemed to me that everything happened a bit hastily and there is a lack of depth and sense of belonging to the factions. However, Drova is an excellent Action RPG, like few of them nowadays, highly recommended for all lovers of the genre and even more so for those who are long-time players and nostalgic for Gothic. 2000 words are too few, I had written 7000 but unfortunately the reviews on GOG have a limit. Anyway, watch some videos and find out more about this game because it is worth it!
