The peace of your enchanted world, Driftmoon, is at an end. An ancient evil is awakening, casting its dark shadows even on your serene home village.

Hope lies in an unlikely alliance: A young man joins forces with a little firefly dreaming of stardom, a panther queen with the ego of a moon whale, and a fellow who's lost everything but his bones, and still hasn't given up. Knowing nothing of the amazing adventures and the fearsome foes that await them, the party embarks on a journey like no other.

Driftmoon is an adventure-roleplaying game, full of exploration, smiles and surprises, captivating stories and quests, charming characters, and countless delightful details.

What's new compared to the vanilla Driftmoon?

 • Driftmoon now runs on Windows, Mac & Linux!
 • We've added the Mystery Box, full of surprises for both you and your friends!
 • New characters, quests, items and skills (through the Mystery Box and elsewhere too)

Do the job as light A-RPG

If you are looking for something complex/challenging in term of fight, story, puzzle or crafting, do not buy it. To put in short, this is a light RPG, for beginner people, or for people who just want to have a easy game. Considering I have seen the review, I have set the setting to hard or very hard, and there is no big challenge. But, I enjoyed it anyway, Because: - The ambiance is good (remind me of LBA2 in some way) - Gameplay is easy to master - Story is ok and easy to follow (no "wait who is is this guy?"), even some few originality - It is light hearted - Puzzle never requested to go and check on internet, managed to find alone the solution - There is a bit of crafting (potions or arrows) but it is not too invasive - it is 10-12h long - you can pause anytime I will not recommend this if you are looking for diablo 12 or divinity OS 5, but if you look for something easy, or somewhat to recommend to some friends which are not nerds or new to video game, this is a good game.

Quality adventure for the whole family

Driftmoon is a great adventure game with RPG elements that works as an introduction to longer, more involved RPGs, in much the same way that Loom is an initiation into adventure games. Without this game as a transition, my kids might still be only playing Pokémon as their primary RPG. For myself, I also found Driftmoon very satisfying due to its length: I am a completionist, and love to do everything and find everything in the games I play. With this game, you get a good story arc and can fully complete the game (including finding all the "secrets") in a relatively short amount of time: it took me about a week of playing an hour or two a day. In Driftmoon, you are given a series of tasks to perform; completing each task unlocks a new area and advances the story to that new area. This linearity is why I call it an adventure game even though in every other way it is an RPG: you can't choose the order in which to complete the quests and you're not free to wander around, exploring the whole game world. That might be tiresome if it went on for a long time, but as I wrote, it's a pretty short, tight little story, and each new story development kept me engaged in the plot. It's very well done..

Light fun RPG

A whimsical and somewhat amusing RPG that actually plays well, this review is based on the enhanced version of Driftmoon. You have a main protagonist and several party members that will change throughout the game. Character development is simple but not simplistic and does include choices that matter. Combat can range from a simple point to the enemy and let it play out, to more intense fights where you will have to leverage unique items and special abilities in order to persevere. Additionally, this game features several clever puzzles to solve in order to progress the story, it isn’t just slash and hack. There is also a good but simple crafting system and equipment is generally light and straightforward, just make sure you read the descriptions so you do not don a cursed item. The art is ok, nothing to brag about, but also certainly not a negative while the music is limited but upbeat without being annoying. Overall this is a straight forward good versus evil game that will make you feel nice without knowing the reason why. All over references to Christianity that were mentioned in other reviews have also been altered to more general spiritual connotations. The only drawback is that this is an extremely linear game and you will only get a couple of sessions out of it. Still, coming from someone that is considered a “harsh” reviewer, I can recommend this title.

Way overrating by other reviewers

I cannot understand why this game gets so good reviews (almost only 4 and 5 stars). There are good elements, but overall the experience is poor. The good: the story has very interesting elements. The game is very easy to pick up and play, and quite short. I finished it in about 8 hours. The combat is easy to learn. The graphics, if underwhelming, are pleasing and understandable for a 2 people team. There is a crafting system, it is easy and works fine. The bad: the combat is way too dull. It is too simple in my opinion. It basically consists on clicking once on one enemy and the rest is automatic if one wants. It is possible to use powers, but they are not that useful. One could finish the game without them by simply buying many potions (or crafting them) and just drinking them one at a time during combat. There is no character sheet, so the items are equiped from the inventory directly and it is hard to have an overview of what is equiped. The worst thing though is the writing. While the story is fine, and original, there is way too much text. I was constantly put through walls of text that repeated itself most of the time, but I needed to read to make sure I did not miss an important cue. The text itself is not so well written, ending up it boring minutes after boring minutes lost reading it. I play text heavy games a lot, but this time it was very annoring. I also had a crash within the 8 hours I played. This being said, the only negative reviews I saw on this game were talking about the game being Christian and trying to preach to the gamer. I'm an atheist and did not have any issue regarding that aspect of the game, so either it was changed by the dev since the reviews were made, or I'm not so sensitive as those reviewers are. I cannot recommend this game, except for people who do not except any masterpiece here.

Very charming

At a first glance, the game looks bad, the music can be a bit grating, but you won't ever know, for sure, what's going to happen next. It's so full of charm and wit, you'll keep playing just to see what whimsical thing will happen next, and I appreciated that about the game. A full playthrough, completing all quests netted me 8 hours, so I think its length is appropriate and doesn't overstay its welcome. I was perfectly entertained for the entire time, and that's something rare.
