Amazing! ...but
I adore this game, it's spooky but not scary, it's atmospheric but not overwhelming...until it is. This cute artistic game is lovely, but has its moments of confusion like "where am I supposed to go?" and "how do I get [xyz]?" I consulted the Dredge Wiki many times as I could not for the life of me figure out how to progress the story. This being said, however, I did have loads of fun exploring trial and error modes of learning, until my patience wore thin. Especially with Devil's Spine. The mangrove area was a little confusing, the yellow coloration of the area made everything look a little too similar, but there weren't really any imposing threats (Mind Slither's weren't too tough to counter, and were eventually no longer a threat in general). However, Devil's Spine was incredibly convoluted. Everything was ruins and mazes, there are these little fish everywhere, and you have to be WAY TOO CAREFUL, lest your hull take damage/unseeing mother catches up to you. Now, once I remembered that I had the banishment ability, this was fine, still convoluted with the impressive cooldown period, but I digress. Overall this game is a solid 8/10. Seems like I could easily get most if not all of the achievements, and I would very much love to see if there are different endings!
