Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
Servers look down, the version is outdated and all the mods are for the steam version for that reason.
I will need to buy it again on Steam to be able to play as it should be. A waste of money.
Thanks to GOG for this amazing game. I am still in progress in NG and I find this game quite charming. The pawn system Capcom added was a great touch so that you never face battles alone or without resources. Default keyboard and mouse controls are flawless unlike another famous game it is compared to(Dark Souls). The battles, especially the boss-battles are really superb and really love the mounting mechanic which adds an extra layer of strategy. Pawn chatter may be irritating to some people but I find it a minor annoyance.
Only one flaw of this game is that it frequently crashes while loading a new area. In my 30+ hours of playing I have faced it about 5-6 times which set me back by quite a long time, and I can't stand it, because you have to walk a great distance to reach most mission areas.
Or someone likes this kind of gameplay. It reminds me DarkSouls and HellGate London. Where you can't tell by the size of monster if it ok for you or you will die with its only move.
At first I just turn it off after 15 minutes. Than I decided to give it second chance because of good reviews I've read. Ingame guide is awful.
There are some confusing guides about what to do in game but you can get main idea about pawns and developing character.
Take a look at control settings and understand more or less how to control pawns. In many cases you can do nothing in battle, pawns will do it for you, your only role can be to wake them, point target if it's possible, watch for their health.
So with this knowledge game became playable. Interesting idea to "develop" AI of followers (pawns) so they can fight more effective. Fighting Giant cyclops and Dragons after few hours in game is exciting. There are not many bugs in game, it runs very good on laptop (1660Ti). The game is beautiful.
Still it feels like playing Oblivion, it's ok but something isn't right.
I am still frustrated of skills system because you need to return to some trainer to change you skills, so you can't easily experement with them and AI of followers "study" the same thing. I suppose it better to use controller to play this game, for those who good with it.
