Dragon Wars

This version of the game does not include the paragraphs built into the game, if you want to look up the paragraphs in the game you need to print out the 42 page manual or have the docs that came with the game when it first came out. This game does come with a pdf manual. clue book that has maps and a quick reference card. There are to many skills in this game to deal with. You will have to do a lot of grinding to win the game plus you only get two skill points per level and gold is rare. If you plan to buy this game keep in mind that this is the Dos version that came out in 1990. This is not a remastered version of the game. The game does not have a level up system like most RPGs, your stats do not increase in the game, you have to decide where to put your skill points. If a character dies the character is lost, it will be hard to resurrect the character.

Reminds me of the good ole Bards Tale. Only thing strange is that i get no hitpoints when lvling. Is that a bug or am i doin something wrong?

...but this has not aged well. Especially for someone who never played these kind of games as a kid. (I am 38). You get dropped down into some world. You start walking around to find nothing. You walk and walk and walk without any indication on what do do or where to go. You can barely distinguish what is what. Is it a wall? A town? Just walls in the middle of nothing? I am probably playing the game totally wrong since the overwhelmingly majority of players have some love for this game, which is all good. But if you as me, never played these types of games in the early 80's and 90's. You will most likely NOT like it at all. But if you have played games like this (bards tale seems to be mentioned) then this might be for you. Don't hate tho. Just giving my thoughts. And for me it's basically unplayable. Oh and btw. If you have problems installing it on Arch Linux. Download a downgraded version of flac from AUR ("sudo yay -S flac1.3") for example.
