Dragon Age™: Origins - Ultimate Edition

At the beginning of this game you get to choose your race, sex, class, skills, attributes, name and some other cosmetic stylization. (Eyebrows and face tattooes!) (Hah!) There's six different beginning stories with their own origin stories, hence the title Dragon Age: Origins. All unique and worth seeing. You get treated differently based on this choice as well. This game has a special place in my heart. It's a classic and it challanged other game designers to be more innovative. I highly high-ly recommend this game.

Dragon Age: Origins is a masterpiece in every way and I'm thankful I finally got to enjoy it for the first time this year! As a fan of BioWare since Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire, I was incredibly looking forward to playing this game. It astounded me from the very beginning, delivering a complex, compleling narrative with true consequences, heart wrenching moments, and the best written companions in any RPG I've ever played (including BioWare's other amazing games). Lelianna is my absolute favourite 💖 Every companion is well thought out, with hilarious and interesting banter throughout the game. The characters feel alive, the world feels alive, the lore is meticulously crafted and refreshing in a genre that relies on tropes so much. I enjoyed the fun and strategic combat, especially when you can specialize your character with different builds. There's tons of replay value! After applying the GOG patches, I followed a modlist to update the graphics and further fix some bugs, plus integrate the DLC better into the base game. The game runs flawlessly with zero crashes and still looks wonderful all these years later, so anyone worried about performance or aesthetic can have peace of mind. This game will leave you in awe so many times, whether that's laughing or crying or having so much fun you really feel like you're part of the world. When the journey is all said and done, it culminates into an experience you will carry with you always...and then return to like the haunting, angelic notes of Leliana strumming her harp and singing her song to remind us that life, while perilous, will always be full of love no matter what.

When i first saw Dragon Age: Origins, i purchased an Collector's Editoon, who is a fragment of this marvelous adventure. This game is an oldschool RPG in his essence, but have several new addition compared with the game of his genre. So, i recommend? Absolutely! This is the game of my life. Being serious. P.S: I know that the graphics aren't the best ones, but, the lore is wonderful.

i had to replace my hardcopy after my disc got snapped. i managed to pick it up on special here a few months back and it was well worth it. i got everything i already had with the addition of a little short campaign called a tale of orzammar. it playes well and i don't regret getting this at all. that being said be very careful what you buy on gog. some of the games on here are a lot cheaper than on steam and all games here are DRM free as far as i know ( which is always a plus ) but other games are twice as- or even three time more expensive than their steam counterparts. Like in the title hunting around is very much required when deciding where to get a game but gog is an excellent place to get great games at the best price but it isn't always the best. furthermore i've found that this digital copy actually runs a bit better than my hardcopy did, i have no idea how or why there was any difference between the two but i'm not complaining : )

I rarely get "sucked in" to a game these days to the point that I cannot put it down, but this was certainly the case with Origins. I put in well over 50 hours in a short time period and rarely had a single dull moment. Even at $20 this is an absolute steal for any RPG fan. One disclaimer is the combat can be a bit clunky with pausing to manage your party members' skills and overall combat tactics. I simply set the difficulty to easy so I was able to do most all of the fighting in real time--if you're looking for a huge amount of combat depth that is absolutely there for you, but know you can bypass a lot of those mechanics if they don't appeal to you.
