Dragon Age™: Origins - Ultimate Edition

A great purchase that comes with a compatability update/patch for modern machines. Over 5 hours in, and only 1 crash. This version is superior just based on that patch alone, I recommend this over the steam version.

i can't get the game to work. i have tried patches and different settings and the game wont work.

This is finally the best option for those who haven't tried all the dlc yet. I own the original on dvd and purchased return to ostagar dlc with bioware points, but there is currently no way to purchase the rest of the dlc since bioware points are gone since origin launched. So they only way to get the complete version is to buy on origin, steam or gog. Origin never discounts and the steam version has many players reporting technical issues where it fails to validate their account. This gog version is exactly what I've been waiting for. I'm pumped to relive this amazing game and see all the content. As far as the game itself, well it's amazing but there's so many other reviews giving full detail I'm sure. I just wanted to encourage players to get this version as it is the most superior option if you want all the dlc.

I recently played Tyranny and i was so disappointed. It's apparently hard to find a satisfying recent rpg, one that can hold comparison to Baldur's Gate. Some time ago i tried Divinity Original Sin and although it was entertaining, game-play-wise, the writing was so silly that i had to quit. Tyranny had good premises, a rich lore, a captivating design, but i felt the game itself was a bit arid, a game that sings praises to itself. It is no question to find in rpg games profound characters or entrenching moral dilemmas. What is needed are, simple, memorable characters, a well designed world, entertaining dynamics. Dragon Age has it all. The writing is top notch, with voice acting for every character. The dialogue options are immense. The game design, seems to me, has established groundbreaking features that are still implemented ( party dynamics, abilities.. see Tyranny). There are good bargains around the net and they are worth every penny. Having started it ten years ago, still searching for a good rpg, I recently decided to buy it and so far i'm having a blast. One of the delevopers (Ray Muzyka) described it as a spiritual successor to BG, true statement.

Dragon Age Orgins is a classic RPG. rather differant from it's sucessors DA2 and DA:Inqusition, orgins feels like a halfway point between modern RPGs, and old school isometric RPGs of the past. Anyone who loves games such as baulder's gate or pillars of infinity needs to play dragon age orgins.
