Dorfromantik is a relaxing building strategy and puzzle game in which you place tiles to create ever-growing, idyllic village landscapes. With Dorfromantik, you can immerse yourself in a quiet, peaceful world at any time and take a break from everyday life. At the same time, Dorfromantik offers a challenge for those who are looking for one: To beat the highscore, you need to carefully plan and strategically place your tiles.
In Dorfromantik you start with a stack of procedurally generated tiles. One after the other, you draw the top tile of the stack, place it on one available slot and rotate for the best fit. Thereby groups and combinations of landscapes are formed, such as forests, villages or water bodies, and you are rewarded with points depending on how well the tile fits.
On some tiles you will also encounter special objects that give you a quest: For example, the windmill wants to border 6 grain fields, the locomotive wants to be connected to 10 tracks or the deer wants to inhabit a forest with at least 50 trees. Fulfill these quests to get more tiles to continue the expansion of your landscape. The game ends when the tile stack is used up.
As you expand the landscape, you can advance into new, colorful biomes and discover pre-placed game objects that give you long-term tasks. Through these tasks you can unlock new tiles, new biomes and new quests.

Cute graphics and puzzly gameplay drew my attention.
Pleasurable soundtrack, challenges and all around therapeutic calmness kept me playing for hours.
It's simple at its core, so I can see how it could get boring to some people, but the randomness of the stack and freedom of play mean each gameplay is different, even if not eventful.
This is exactly the game I needed to let go off other issues for a bit and just keep fiddling with puzzles.
Yes, it's a time sink. But no, not the kind that makes you regret the time spent with the game.
It's just pure joy and stress relief, a digital walk in the park.
Carcassonne with hexagons and twist, because solo play. Greatly relaxing, but also forcing you to use brain if you want to make things beautiful and score high. I would even buy it again if there was mobile port ;)
Found this one thanks to the latest Gog newsletter. The artstyle immediately appealed to me and a quick watch of the trailer later I had it installed.
This was the perfect, relaxing little puzzler for a Friday after work.
Soft and beautiful music accompanies a few delicate (yet refreshingly rewarding) pops and rings as place down tiles to you build your idyllic little piece of the countryside.
Getting a little down with its railroad next to a forest build just so while exploring and looking for new tiles makes for a great mechanic to accompany the serene image that slowly builds out over the course of a game.
I've got a long way to go to master it but I'll be playing a few tiles whenever I feel like relaxing and building for a bit.
Well done to Toukana Interactive! 👏
Never reviewed a game before. However, this one is worth it!
It is a very nice, very zen and rewarding puzzle game. The visuals are beautiful and the music is very relaxing. I bought lots of games in my life. Over the last years many of them felt like work because you have to loot, farm, grind etc. all the time (which is bothersome if you actually have to work) and you might never finish the game or loose hundreds of hours doing so. This is the first game in month that just feels like having fun. Well done!
I saw this game at the HandofBlood Youtube Channel and found it realy relaxing.
So i first bought is on Steam and later saw it is also available here on GOG. As I like GOG more I had to refund it on Steam and bought it here. Shame on me for this.
Now to the game itself.
I'm not that kind of person who writes reviews that often, but for this game I have to.
When playing it i get these "2048" game vibes mixed with Carcassonne. The soundtrack reminds me a bit of Damian Rice and so it makes a perfect relaxing mix!
So it is by far no fast game. It makes you relax and having a quality time playing it.
If you are searching for something like this give it a try!
Yeah it is still in development, but I must say, that i haven't experienced any bugs or weird behavior yet.
