About the Included Games:

Doom (1993) - Original Version
The demons came and the marines died...except one. You are the last defense against Hell. Prepare for the most intense battle you’ve ever faced. Experience the complete, original version of the game released in 1993, now with all official content and Episode IV: Thy Flesh Consumed.

Doom II – Original Version
Hell has invaded Earth, and to save it, you must battle mightier demons with even more powerful weapons. This beloved sequel to the groundbreaking DOOM (1993) introduced players to the brutal Super Shotgun, the infamous Icon of Sin boss, and more intense FPS action.

TNT: Evilution
The UAC relocated their experiments to one of the moons of Jupiter. A spaceship, mistaken for a supply vessel, was granted access. But when it got close to the base, demons poured out. All your comrades were slaughtered or zombified. This time it's not about survival. It's about revenge.

The Plutonia Experiment
Every effort has been made by the nation's top scientists to close the seven interdimensional Gates of Hell, but one portal remains open. Alone, you must infiltrate the ravaged base, defeat the demon Gatekeeper, and seal the last Hell portal before the undead take over the world.

Master Levels  for DOOM II
This expansion includes twenty additional levels, all with the same hell-spawned horrors and action of the base game. Each level was created by independent designers and supervised by id Software.

Sigil
Created by id Software co-founder, John Romero, and released as an episode-sized mod consisting of 18 new maps, Sigil fits in between the timelines of DOOM (1993) and DOOM II.  Baphomet, the gatekeeper of Hell, “glitched the final teleporter with his hidden sigil, whose eldritch power brings you to even darker shores of Hell. You fight through this stygian pocket of evil to confront the ultimate harbingers of Satan, then finally return to become Earth’s savior.”

Legacy of Rust
Created in collaboration by id Software, Nightdive Studios, and MachineGames, Legacy of Rust is the newest episode for DOOM, and the first official episode since DOOM II to feature new demons and weapons.  This 16-map Episode is broken up into two 8 map sections:  The Vulcan Abyss and Counterfeit Eden.

Classic keyboard controls not available

This seems like an amazing update, and I would have been keen on instantly giving it a 5 star rating. But when I started digging around the settings so I could play this with the arrow keys, like I've done since the dawn of Wolfenstein/Doom, it appears impossible to bind the left and right turning to keys. How is this basic key binding not possible? Unfortunately it makes the game unplayable for me.

The best way(s) to play DOOM.

About the games, what is there to say? the DOOM engine games are among the greatest games out there, largely responsible for bringing the PC into the mainstream gaming landscape. Anything said about the games themselves is really unneeded. If you're reading this, you know what these games are about. The real treat here is the package. You have the DOOM, DOOM II, Final Doom (TNT and Plutonia), Master Levels for Doom II, No Rest for the Living, Sigil, and the newly-made Legacy of Rust, presented in an EXTREMELY easy way to play. There's no messing with settings or wad placement or any other hassle - Everything is selectable from a single menu. Master Levels for Doom II is even presented as a complete campaign allowing you to go from one game to the next completely hassle-free. What if you WANT to use the old games, either to play them in their original forms or to plug them into your favorite open-source engine? Good news: The GOG version of DOOM I+II gives you the original DOOM and DOOM II for your pleasure! Not only that, but wads of the classic games can be used in GZDOOM (the newer game wads may require using DOOM II as an IWAD). Essentially, what you're looking at here is the definitive version of the classic DOOM engine series. It's the perfect way to play, so grab your guns and get blastin'!

Great Console Release!

If you're playing the 1990s Doom games on consoles, like XB1 or Switch or PS4, this re-release is for you. The downside for PC gamers is the absence of mouselook and additional graphics options, which have been staples of Doom source ports like ZDoom and GZDoom for over 20 years. Mod support only works with BOOM thru Bethesda.net, which, again, ZDoom and GZDoom do better. Graphically these re-releases are pretty good in Vulkan. Sonically these re-releases have been blessed with Andrew Hulshult's (Dusk soundtrack) musical brilliance. Controller support for 360, XB1, PS3, PS4, and XInput PC controllers is featured. Not bad as a free addition for those who already purchased the classic Doom games or those playing on console, but running the mods thru ZDoom and GZDoom are the better option for PC gamers.

Classic shooters with bad Windows port

+When buy this you also got DOS versions of old Dooms fully compatible with any current free port like GZDoom! It runs well on modern systems, but have its issues! 1. Censorship - Nazi symbols in secret Wolfenstein levels are consored. Thing lie this 80 yeas after WW2? Also few minor censoring like removed Nine Inch Nail secret or worse, completely redone medkits to green. Why? Bethesda says this is too similar to Red Cross organisation emblem. Censor was on drugs. 2. Bad performance, it need several times stronger machine than GZDoom so beware. 3. No compatibility with lot of Doom WADs and mods. Broken Bethesda account creation/login means no access to those few supported mods.

DOOM, Fun as all hell.

Been playing DOOM I, since the shareware versions. I even went and got a i486DX2-66 (I should have kept that comp for collectors sake) just to play DOOM, just a few days after enjoying it on my friends computer. I would carry around with me a shareware version with at all times. Yeah I was into carry-alls and ecceptible satchels in those days but, it kept me playing until the day i got the computer. I'd even bought a Gravis GamePad Pro, and demolished everyone. I was the only one to circle strafe with M/K, or Gamepad Pro, much to my friends dismay. The GZDOOM port is what i use now. I never liked the autoaim and the absense of the mouse look but when Quake I came out, it changed things in a good way. Thanks id software for providing me with an intertainment value that lives on in me to this day. And thank you for releasing it hr on GOG.
