Gather your party and get ready for a new, back-to-the-roots RPG adventure! Discuss your decisions with companions; fight foes in turn-based combat; explore an open world and interact with everything and everyone you see. Join up with a friend to play online in co-op and make your own adventures with the powerful RPG toolkit.

In Divinity:Original Sin you take on the role of a young Source Hunter: your job is to rid the world of those who use the foulest of magics. When you embark on what should have been a routine murder investigation, you suddenly find yourself in the middle of a plot that will rattle the very fabric of time.

Divinity: Original Sin is a game that gives you a lot of freedom and plenty of gameplay mechanics to use or abuse. The game's epic story may drive you toward your ultimate end-goal, but how you get there is entirely up to you.

Or up to you and a friend, because Divinity: Original Sin can be played completely cooperatively, and features both online and local drop-in/drop-out multiplayer. Great adventures become even greater when shared with a trusted comrade-in-arms!
Enhanced Edition features 1000's of enhancements including split-screen cooperative play and Source Hunter DLC.

Everything's more fun with a friend and Original Sin is no different! Drop-in, drop-out multiplayer lets you play online or in your living room, with local split-screen co-op and a controller-friendly UI. Adventure together or explore completely different places, right from the same sofa!

- Tired of your mouse and keyboard? Get full controller support for one and two players on all major platforms (PC, Mac, Linux)
- Hear the world come alive with full AAA voice-overs for all characters
- Enjoy a bigger and better story, with new quests, locations, and characters with new dialogue.
- Discover new battle styles with Dual Wielding, Wands, and Grenades - Try new game modes including Explorer Mode (for players who want to focus on story and/or are genre novices) and Honour Mode (for experienced tacticians ready to face brutal encounters, puzzles, and new monsters)
- New and improved user interface, graphics, animations, sounds, and visual effects
  • Become part of a reactive, living and vast open world. Explore many different environments, fight all kinds of fantastical creatures and discover tons of desirable items.
  • Experience gripping party- and turn-based combat. Manipulate the environment and use skill & spell combos to overcome your many foes: Use magic to make it rain on your enemies, then cast a lightning spell to fry them to a crisp.
  • Experiment with different skill combinations to ruin the day for enemies and townspeople alike.
  • Play with a friend in co-op multiplayer. Make decisions together (or disagree entirely), as your interactions and relationship with your partner influence the game.
  • Unravel a deep and epic story, set in the early days of the Divinity universe. No prior experience with other Divinity games is necessary, however. The game takes place well before its predecessors, Divine Divinity and Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga, but will still feel familiar to fans.
  • Classless character creation lets you design the character of your choice. Endless item interaction and combinations take exploration and experimentation to another level of freedom.

Fun but flawed

This game is incredibly fun! I love that it is not straightforward, and many times you can puzzle your ways out of situations and you do not have to grind to get your characters ready for the next boss battle. I really enjoy the turn based combat and being able to play with a friend. We have given our characters opposite personalities and it has made the game an unpredictable blast! I took off one star because of the quest system. I like that there are no quest markers and you have to pay attention. I think forcing the player to pay attention further draws the player into the world and creates an immersive experience. The problem with this style is when the game is not clear what it wants in order to let you progress, and you end up losing hours trying to figure out an intuitive problem before looking at a FAQ. There were a few examples, but the big one was that you had to use the bloodstones before you could progress in the game. It was clear you needed them, but not clear that you had to use them. This stops you in your tracks fairly late in the game and ruined some of the great immersion the game had built up. That being said, I still really enjoyed this game, and recommend it to anyone who likes crpg's.

Amazingly good cRPG

I have been so frustrated with RPGs over the last decade. They are all FPS/RPG hybrids are realtime Diablo type dungeon crawlers. Those are fine, but sometimes slower is better. I havent even looked at RPGs lately and hadnt even heard on this one. However, GoG was having a sale and it caught my eye. I got this game on sale for $13 and it had good reviews. So I took the plunge and it was totally worth it. Honestly, it is probably worth the full price. I am having a blast playing this game. Oldschool cRPGs are having a comeback in recent years with remakes/remasters the last few years. So far, this game is on par with Wasteland 3 and Torment: Tides of Numenera in design and execution. Thats a major compliment, as those are some of the best games Ive played in years.

I liked it... but uninstalled. Heres why

In short: Its good. Unlike most RPGs this one feels more dynamic. You can often solve things in a myriad of ways. You can teleport wich makes a huuuge difference in exploring. Its good, no doubt, The bad part? There are a few 1) The clutter. A million scrolls, grenades, skills etc, and all gets jammed into a skillbar that easily gets messy and is clunky to rearange. You also get new gear ALL the time. It felt more diablo than Baldurs Gate. You there was a constant hunt for gear, and I felt it would have been better with "static" gear like Baldurs, rather than this procedural stuff. Just HOPE the merchant has restocked a chestpiece that is good for your archer... 2) The need to grind. You CAN find the way to leave the first act quite quickly, but you NEED the exp, so I felt you need to do ALL the ways. Same with the objective for the next act. You can get what you need quite quick , but you need to find the other places for the exp. 3) The combat. The combat is good, but I felt it worked better in Original Sin 1. In that game I used 2 phyiscal damagedealer and 2 mages. Here you need to break their physical or magical armour to inflict statuses. So it was better to focus on one. There were lone exceptions but overall this made it a bit boring. 4) Slow ass tempo. This was the kicker that made me uninstall today. I played for a few hours each day. But it started to feel more and more like a slog. It wasnt a joy and/or a chance to get a leg up to explore the map anymore, it was a chore. 5) ALMOST a good story. I wanted to find out more of the story, but the slow ass tempo made it loose steam every time tl;dr, pretty good, but flawed. For people with more energy and/or time it might work better.

Almost as perfect as its sequel

Great in every possible way but kinda suffers now because the sequel is even better + tactical turn based combat that encourages you to think in creative ways + story and characters are ok + writing and humour + high replayability. You can go through whole game with completely missing some amazing encounters and situations + looks nice + sound and soundtrack are good - progression and game mechanics are poorly explained which can result in you completely messing up your build and making your game impossibly difficult Overall 9/10 almost perfect..sequel is perfect however. Play both

cRPG I was waiting for

In my opinion, this game is a real masterpiece of modern cRPG genera. It does not only give you a very good story with great (Pratchettian style) world but also have deep and satysfing mechanics. I am really impressed by the level of world interactions that give you a handful set of options during the turn-based combat - like freezing the flor to make enemies slip or crating mist cover by adding fireball to a puddle - but also is rich on the level of real-time world exploration - e.g. you can make one of your party members speak with NPC, while you take control over another one to loot the chest in the back of the house(!!!). For me, the only real cons of Original Sin is the occasional feeling of the story oversaturation, that makes me stop progressing the game for a few days. Still, overall I give Divinity Original Sin place next to the Gothic and KOTOR , on the top of my cRPG ranking.
