A Not Very Good, But Not Very Bad Game

After Playing the game and watching all the Scenes I have to say this game is really mediocre (For a hentai game). The gameplay is a grind fest, with imbalanced power (Grosbreak is the best move, elemental suck). Playing on easy is recommended, to avoid most grind. Harder difficulties are almost impossible. Overall the gameplay is just annoyingly average. Now to the CG. The lewd fighting moves of monster are too long and obstruct gameplay. That the game is decensored is a big Plus. The art style of the CG is nice. But for the separate Sex Scenes, there are only 3 Pictures, which makes it a bit lack luster. Overall a good score for the CG and plenty of sex scenes are available. The hottest CG scenes for me were the lesbian Scenes from Scene 14 and Secret no 12. After that I really like the Boss monster CG. Now a short praise on the Voice acting. The voice acting of Koyori during regular Talk and Sex scenes are fantastic. 10/10. The voice really made Koyori appealing. Storywise I would have loved if there would be options without rape, but that is just my preference (And I will never forgive the villagers for misusing Koyori >:C). In summary: Either you take a 100% save file and enjoy the CG scenes or you play the game on Easy. Worth playing, but be aware of what you are getting yourself into.

Obsolete Version - Avoid

GOG is selling some ancient Version ~V1.02 while there is some Version 1.81, 2.18 and even a V3.01 to be found on the net. Obviously with way more content. Just search for "IF Divine Miko Koyori" using your prefered search engine. The GOG customers are taken for a fool as always.

Samey and unbelievable

Having just beaten the game and having gotten ( one ) of the endings I can confidently say that this game is alright. It's not the worst hrpg I've played but it's also not very good. Gameplay mostly consists of running around fighting youkai. I played on normal and found the game easy, especially towards the end but at the beginning enemies were dealing nearly a quarter of my health in damage with the H moves being unavoidable. The CG's come in various forms. There's the monster H attacks which trigger a CG. I'd recommend skipping these since they disrupt the flow of combat and can happen 7-8 times per encounter. The art for them is fine, it's just annoying that they feel the need to show them each time an enemy launches an one of these attacks instead of once per encounter. The loss scenes to the youkai are good but for the most part samey and usually involve your character getting gangr*ped with the only difference being who's doing it. After the first scene you're giving the option to have the youkai let your character go or continue violating them. If you continue you usually get a mindbreak scene followed by the game narrating to you that the character died x weeks/months/years later. The boss scenes are the same with the exception being the final boss and oni. The story is bad and the CG's with the villagers are unbelievably stupid. Essentially you get sent to a village by your mom to deal with their youkai problem and while there the villagers r*pe and blackmail you. The problem is that you play a super human with magic powers that could easily overpower and kill everyone in the village and destroy the blackmail, but for some reason your character resigns themselves to being the town toilet and continues to do so even after the problem is solved and you can leave for good. It's really dumb, the CG's for the villagers are dumb and similar to the youkai mostly involves gangr*pe. In all the art/cg is fine and voice acted well but the game itself is mediocre.

Some good, some bad.

Lets talk about the good first. Story is nice albeit classic, well written and with humour. H-scenes are also nice, a bit repetitive though but well done. For the bad, the only way to actually raising your stats are with the skill tree and to access the "ultimate" move, either with sword or magic, you need to complete the tree. Agreed, the more you level, the more skill point you get, but be aware that to complete both trees you need to level to 32. After that leveling is useless as you get SP but nowhere to spend them. There are no other weapon than the one you are given at the beginning. While there are some other armor/accessories, they must be found in chest. There are 5 endings, with only one being a good one. My go-to is always the virgin/true one, and I got it, but with the amount of "sex attack" from the monsters and nothing to avoid it, it become an hassle fast; you need to be crazy as I am to end up with all those stats at 0 LOL. There is some end-game content, a battlefield with more boss, but nothing else as in no NewGame+. After the credit, at least for the good ending, you are back to the village and from there you can continue to battle and do those boss (which will unlock the "secret" H-scenes if you loose to them ). From there also, you can unlock all the normal H-scenes ( not the secret ) by going on the northwest corner of your shrine and press action in front of the dead tree with something unknown in front. All in all, an average game and not the best title from Circle Poison.
